[DONE][100] Deduce purpose and location of these two Chrono Cross monsters

We are presently unsure where these two monsters appear in Chrono Cross:

It's possible that they're simply unused.

Oh! I don't know about the soldier but I actually fought the Wingapede before!

When trying to gain access to Gaea's Navel, if you aren't prepared and don't have the right supplies(I'm guessing that's why it happened)then in the Hydra Marshes the Wingapede will battle you. But I can guarentee you that that thing is used in game.

And only one has it's location as 'unknown', which would be that which Onslaught wrote about.

You can fight the wingapede at two different times ...but in the same place , and only one per playthrough.

Once when saving Kid , if you didnt save her you can then fight it on the way to the navel like Onslaught said .

Ah, so the first weaker one is for saving Kid, and the second is for going to Gaea's Navel?

Yes. What gingerest says fits. Because when i fought that Wingapede I chose to not save Kid since I really was after Glenn.

Even if you save Kid, you can still avoid the fighting (I didn't fight it at the first time).

Yeah, I restored my previously saved file and fought it as Lynx.
But it drops AeroSaucer, so it is the same Wingapede as the one you may encounter before.

What was his HP? Maybe that info of the second version could be wrong.

Okay, so indeed it's the same version.

Confirmed the Porre PVT/SGT you fight as Lynx are their higher HP versions instead of the lower HP versions.
The lower HP versions of them are used by Doppelgang only( HP is not used though, only other stats).

So the 400 HP version can't be doppelganged?

Maybe we can assume the other Wingapede was intended to be used for the first encounter, but developers accidentally used the stronger version anyway.

The game has 2 identical lists to store enemy data.
One it uses to spawn enemies, the other one is compressed and used only for Doppelgang.
So in theory they can make them completely different, but they are just identical...
