Best of Chrono Compendium
« on: February 03, 2011, 07:57:23 am »
This idea came to mind when I was reading through Alphard and Demeria, and realized it's taken me so long to actually finish this. It came to mind that, especially since I don't have portable devices with me everywhere, I wouldn't be able to read many good fanfictions here but at least I can compile them for times I could and didn't have internet connectivity (thus prints and so forth).

Thus, I present The Best of Chrono Compendium, a compilation on-demand. I'll gladly take up requests and make PDF of e-book versions for Kindle and other devices (note: I don't own any of those devices, just have a tool that can convert em). I will compile PDF Art Books of the best fanarts as voted by members.

For now, before I actually print these for myself, I thought I'd share this with the community. Alphard and Demeria, by ZeaLity.

XD I'll take that thought as the reason why anyone hasn't posted here yet.

Forget it; 'twas just an idea. For buggers like me who haven't internet access around or actually love reading stories on paper, I thought I could make a "printable compilation" for em. For example, I once found an artwork on dA which I couldn't stand not looking at it every few minutes, so I simply printed it, framed it and hung it on the wall.

Similarly, I thought I'd make my own personal art/fan-fiction mini-book from the Compendium's archives. Provided I have enough money saved up for printing, of course.

Hey, not a bad idea at all. It'll be interesting to see a nicely designed print publication featuring Compendium content. While you're at it, keep an index of the works you select with the URLs to the web versions for each issue in your main post.

Yeah, that'd be a swell idea!  :D Of course I can't do it alone, especially because doing it alone would mean being restricted to my own bias. I'd like every member to point out their most favorite Compendium Art, Fanfiction, Poetry and anything else they'd love to include. The best artwork will be featured in the cover.

I'll try making all this with Free/OpenSource Software as much as I can (mostly because my Ubuntu machine currently runs faster than my Windows one, so I have no choice in the matter; and at the same time I'll get to try out that Scribus software I've been neglecting so long).

This makes me wish I had a scanner, so as to be able to put up a few more things that are higher quality than the Robo Roll'd picture I did.
