Okay, so I finally perused this topic breifly, and figured I'd toss my three cents in.  Yeah that's right, I ahv eone more penny.  Anyway, y'all probably don't know this, unless you read a booze and guilt fueled post in my SoY thread that has since been edited out, but I've drummed in two bands.  I've beend rumming for about 9 years now, though not recently since I don't ahve my kit out here.

Blink  182 is like a ton of other bands.  Awesome early work that gets crapped out and distorted.  Travis barker is an awesome drummer.  He is also a chode.  Neil Peart is a very differnt, very awesome, and likely better drummer thanTravis Barker.  The singer in his band sounds like a woman.

'K, so I've been going through old discussions, and I seriously thought that this thread was talking about the Doctor Who episode too.  I saw that a few weeks ago and I freaked the FUCK out.  If I wasn't with friends (and thus slightly able to compose myself), I would have screamed a number of times.  That was honestly one of the scariest things I've ever watched.  You have no idea how many nightmares I've had where I'm watching something, then turn around or look away for one second, and then when I look back it's much closer.

When D and I were driving back to our apartment, we passed a church with two carved statues on the front and I almost screamed "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SPEED UP."  Although in retrospect that wouldn't have done any good anyway.  Those creepy statues could've been right behind our car in seconds. 

...Yeah, I totally just got creeped out writing this, and looked behind me to see if there were any super terrifying angels in my apartment.  -______-

XDDD Same here, I thought the topic was about Blink. But as much as I liked the "Thriller" aspect of the episode I didn't find it as scary as I would have wanted. Heh the angels returned in "Time of Angels" and "Flesh and Stone". But are they better than... the Silence?

But as for the band that ZealKnight was talking about, my brother loves em!

The Silence were a great idea that seemed to be implemented...  not exactly poorly, but I expected better of Moffat. As far as monsters go, they were the least scary of his creations, I think. But I am fairly sure they'll return this season, so I am hoping they'll still get to make us sleepless sometime.

But then again seeing that they're the central villains of this season now, especially when they've been *spoilers* controlling civilizations from the shadows, influencing Doctor's enemies and friends, even masterminding the destruction of the TARDIS and the whole Hero Team and destroying the universe in essence, which even Davros/Master weren't capable of, *spoiler end* I think there's more to them than meets the eye.  They will return!

Actually, the role of the Silence in the destruction of the Tardis isn't known. For example, their base wasn't originally intended to be the quasi-Tardis that we saw in the Lodger, but it was changed to it fairly late in development. Does that mean that they create the quasi-Tardis? If so, why do they need humans? Rather, they are portrayed more of as scavengers, so the quasi-Tardis, the mini-Time Lord/Impossible Astronaut, and Frau Eye-Patch are probably from something else and, if anything, the Silence are the ones being used.

To note, this actually isn't the first time than an alien has guided all of human history for its own ends. Earth is rather downright crowded that way (Scaroth being the other instance that I am thinking of).
