Oekaki having a spam invasion

Captcha won't help here. Non-users shouldn't even have the right to post, and all new user accounts have to be manually confirmed by me, so somewhere in the Oekaki code there must be an exploit the spammers are using to post comments and links as non-existant users.

But what about Captcha for the forums? Yesterday we had another spammer at the news submission sub-forum...

It depends on whether the spam is coming from bots or from underpaid human beings in some third-world country. In the latter case, a captcha won't help. Holding the first post of each new registrant for moderator approval would, but imposes an additional burden on the mods (if it's even possible—I don't know much about the capabilities of SMF).
