I always felt the Gurus had a stronger set of willpower than normal humans anyway. I dunno why, but whenever I think of the Gurus, I think of the Sages from Zelda x_x

The Dreamstone passed the ill-feelings to the Queen, who probably had the most contact with it. She probably used it for more and more power, several times a day, causing her to become filled with enmity.

Why wasn't any of teh gurus converted to evil?  Especially Melchior.  According to the convos on the compendium, Garai goes nuts because he is a little jealous, but does not hate.  That little bit of jealousy drives him mad.  Perhaps Melchior's thoughts about the treatment to the earthbound ones would have made him made by lavos' power.  Yet, it had no effect.  I think your theory is right, but this part I jsut stated bothers me and i'd like to clear it up a bit.

He only built it. Only once it was used (Or, assuimg it was placed there, only once the FF was inserted) it became evil. He made the Pendent and the Ruby Knife, both of which were good due to their masters.

Well the original quote sayes that the dreamstone passed it on.  The Gurus must have had contact with that very often since so many things included it.  Also the group carries dreamstone and gives it to Melchior to yet again handle it.  I thought Melchior's feelings for the earthbound ones were strong, strong enough to make his willpower falter slightly.

And one more thing.  The prehistorics had dreamstone.  If anyone had minimal willpower, or intellect to control its effects, it was them.  Why aren't they going around killing eachother since it was so abundant?

Hahaha, I don't tho. The Sage's dont have much background or anything, just that they had to seal up Ganon. Whilst the Guru's are people who basiaclly shaped Zeal and the future.

Because the Dream Stone wasn't processed. When you fix the Masamune, Melchior says the Dream Stone must be processed and the sword needs to be activated.

Oh yes they do. I also visit a Zelda forum than anally analyzes Zelda like we do Chrono. pre-OOT era, we surmised that the temples and stuff were built by previous Sages to seal the Sacred Realm and whatnot. Then, like the whole Slayer thing, the power passes onto a new individual when a Sage dies, so that there's always seven at any one time, then, when they're needed by fate, they awaken and realize their destinies. This happens in OOT when they seal Ganon, etc. The tradition continues in TWW and LTTP, but this is a Chrono forum, and I might get distracted and start bringing up the Christian parrallels we found.

Well, you may have a point on intellect, but on willpower, I doubt it.  In that era, their willpower had to be exponentially stronger than, say, the other party members' wills.  Other party members had nice homes to sleep in, while these people had a tent...plus the constant danger of invasion by the Reptites...and with little clothing or other necessities to protect them from the weather, winters probably took a regular toll on human lives.  That would be the era when humans were most survival-minded, so I'd argue that their willpower is stronger than the will of any other era.  They're ALL pretty freaking strong; it's just that Ayla is the strongest among them, so they all seem "normal" by comparison.
