Character height measured using models
« on: August 31, 2016, 05:54:19 am »
I just checked the height values of the battle models.
I used Serge's height (170cm) as the standard, because he has no hat nor standing hair.

Not going to write down every one, here's some examples:

name           model          game
Kid163.95165
Leena165.30166
Norris175.89177
Nikki181.51182
Viper200.63201
Riddel170.76171
Karsh180.11181
Zappa172.65173
Grobyc202.31203
Orlha164.39165
Harle163.16???
Lynx193.74194
Razzly108.90109
Poshul111.45112
Skelly186.06187
Starky89.0889
I know Grobyc's hair, Razzly's hat, Skelly's clown top, and Riddel's snake tiara, but the values are so close which make me wonder if they just measured the model or scaled the model using the concept info.

Those whose values are a bit off:
name           model          game
Doc191.86174
Irenes185.9178
Steena186.11175
Pierre193.74180
Hat or hair may be the cause. But Razzly and Skelly also wear a tall hat.

It seems the model contains a "top of head" value, maybe I can check it later.

Well forget it. The value doesn't make sense.

Edit*2

Macy is only 129cm, the game says she's 145 cm, that is also correct, if you add the height of the shield (hey, you cheat).

Edit*3

OK, I updated the model viewer to display height values.

Some fun fact:
1. Garai is a Troll, who is taller than Ketchop
2. Slash is as tall as Lynx
3. Flea is shorter than Kid
4. Ozzie is shorter than a little girl

Maybe that is one of the benifits of being a ghost.

By the way, I think Marcy should be 129cm, 145cm is too tall for a 9 years old.
If so, maybe they made the model before completing the informations.

Or maybe Garai should be marketing some kind of drug/supplement: "Too short? Hate not being able to reach the top shelf at the supermarket? Garai's Growth Hormone to the rescue!" Ketchop probably got into the remnant supply after it had spoiled. ;)

Ha.
I have compared Garai and Radius in THAT scene and the values match their battle models.
Radius - 171cm
Garai - 303cm

Another thing is Miguel's battle model seems identical to his field model, though it has a bigger texture. The field models are usually twice as big as their battle field counterparts, but with fewer polyons.

Garai also uses the scaled-up version of his battle model, but his model is much more detailed than Miguel.

It is strange they didn't make a more detailed Miguel, especially when he's an important character.

how tall is the Lavos Core? I'd assume 10-15 ft.

It is about 19 ft.
https://storage.googleapis.com/utunnels1.appspot.com/ccmodelviewer/index.html#battle/timedevourerlavos

that link doesn't work. my assumption was based on the Lavos Core's sprite being about twice as tall as Chrono's sprite.
