I was able to beat FF2 in 13 hours, no character higher than 50 in my latest play through of it.  I was played FF4 PSX to help my friend, and it was alot harder.  Plus, it had tons and tons of WORTHLESS items.  Tons of them.  I will considered "easytype", my beloved FF2us, to be the greatest RPG ever made until I see a superior RPG, which I really don't see happening.

Chrono Trigger =p

Gah, it's all opinion anyway.

FFV was only released in NA on the PSX. FFII was FFIV Easy Type. The FFIV on PSX was more similar (but w/a few slight differences) to the actual FFIV that was originally released on the SF.

Seiken Densetsu III was never released in NA. The second Seiken Densetsu game was released in NA on the SNES as Secret of Mana and the first Seiken Densetsu game was released in NA on the Gameboy as FFAdventure. The fan translation of Seiken Densetsu III has been dubbed Secret of Mana II by the translator and some fans (much like Mother was dubbed "Earthbound ZERO").

Personally, I don't see the attraction to the Easy Type. The characters lose some of their unique abilities, the censorship and script translation is rediculous, and it's just plain too easy...Easy Type is to FFIV as MQ is to FF.

I think it's just because they played it first, so they believe that that's how it's supposed to be (even if that isn't technically true).

I have to agree with both of you wholeheartedly.

Does anyone know what Seiken and Densetsu both literally translate to?

A literal translation of "Seiken Densetsu" gives "holy sword legend", or "Legend of the Holy Sword".

Man, answers.com is practically my new Google! >_>

I've actually played FF4 very recently for PS, and it does not have horrible load time aside from when you must save or load a save, and I can't say that's bothersome. The game itself loads very fast and loading is hardly noticible at all. FF6 , and 5 and Chrono Trigger on the PS is a much different story, though, those certainly do have some horrendous loading times especially poor Chrono Trigger.
