I pretty much always name the leads after myself, and in Trigger I usually challenge myself to name characters after my friends (with their varying personalities) and see if I got them right.

In Cross, Serge = Luke, but that was it.

Ah, truly. That was always one of my greatest pastimes when naming Shining Force characters, though I've done that with other games. As you said, the main character is quite often "Dan".

One of the greatest name changes of all time always comes from Dragon Warrior/Quest VII's renaming of your Bag...I loved Panties.

I  just love those games you can name nearly anything like in Secret of Mana for PSX. I named the first spear I made The Hole Reamer lol :twisted:
