CE Musically Inspired Art: Fury Of The Prince
« on: August 18, 2009, 10:20:31 pm »
Still not finished but I'm in the middle of working on that. It just lacks color right now, what do you think?

Far from finished since the coloring is what I'm not as good at(specially shading). If anyone else is interested in giving the coloring a shot, be my guest!

Yeah, nice job. BTW, is that the Frozen Flame in the background?

Neat. I can't color personally, but I can't wait to see this thing all inked and purdy.

Well, I'm much closer than before! Gotta take care of that white outlining(annoying that it started off as JPEG rather than PNG). Then I need to darken the outlines and rap up with shading(toughest part since I want to flame in the background to meld with the black why it's a very dark orange right now).

What do you think now?

you should use layers instead of doing it all in what looks like ms paint.

the gimp is a great tool and is basically a free photoshop type program.

Yeah, that's one reason why I was wondering if someone else was interested in coloring. Paint's all I got. :(

UPDATE:

Gotten darken lines and I MIGHT be set. Dunno, I'm considering doing shading on Crono as well, but that might be out of my league(of all the things and techniques I got shown from years of art teachers both in groups and personal not ONE showed me shading :x )

Would I have to stay in the lines if I color?

Really though that looks sweet.  Crono went from swashbuckling happy go lucky sort of "punk rocker" world saver to fierce and omnipotent slayer of all that stands in the way of the ninja blade warrior destructor.

Staying in the lines is a must, yes. You have no idea how many times I've gotten frustrated over a single pixel off. You wouldn't think even ONE MEASLEY pixel matters. It sticks out as much as if this were in the icons bin

It gets annoying sometimes, but it's the only means of posting up art that I have.
Right now I'm working on darkening Crono's lines. In case that's hard to understand, here's what I mean...

Color all of that blue. It took me half an hour to get that done, so don't expect anything for a while. When it's set, I color it a proper dark color, like black, or dark gray, or whatever works best!

Alright, and I have here a brief preview of what's to come. I'm further in production than I had thought(top half of Crono finished, need lower half, cape, and sword).

Work on that tomorrow...
Thoughts on current stage?

The finished product. At long last. Hours of Paint. It's done.

Crimson Echoes gave me a darker feel and so I made a darker picture. The music gave me a sense of vengeance somewhere in there and so I decided for Crono, pissed at the cause of all the chaos. No, not King Zeal, what caused him to cause the chaos in the first place, who I felt was the true villain- the Frozen Flame.

I'd like to call it...
Fury Of The Prince

Also if anyone is still interested in coloring, I decided not to go at the shading. I tried it, it came out bad. He looked like an angry hippy.

Hey, not bad! You should invest in a tablet and use something better than MS paint. Your results would be even better : ).
