My CT project : The anime series!

I want to start a series of cartoons for Chrono Trigger. Does anyone know any free 2d animation program?

Not off the top of my head, I'm afraid -- but just be careful. These days almost any fan-based Chrono project - especially something of as large a magnitude as an anime project -- is targeted by Squeenix's C&D Nazi Department. :/

Why is Square so strick?
They said that they will lose money, but how? I mean , it is not like Squere was making CT in 3d, or in Chinese, or a cartoon series.

Because if they don't defend their trademarks, they lose them.

I don't have the feeling that Square Enix is strict. They only cancelled 2 fanprojects out of the ~10 serious fanprojects which currently exist, and out of the hundreds of non-serious projects which still exist.
