Idea for Marle Scenario

As Cyber pointed out to me Marle's scenario is to small.  I thought about it and think maybe we should pull a Zelda.

How about we make one or two small maps with 4 exits.  Marle has to go through the exits in the right order to make it to the little girl.  This will also let us put Terra Tower "inside the forest" (the way Magus Lair was). 

It'll be easy enough for me to code.  I'll just load different things in the map depending on the order she goes through.

Anyone disagree with this?

I made a beta map for it, it's the middle top of the .png file.  There'll be 3 "ends" .  Two of them will go to the single trees in the middle bottom part of the map, one to the overworld..   

One tree will have the little Girl Marle has to find. 

One tree can be a buy to give her a hint or something.

One exit will lead to the overworld next to Terra Tower.

Of coures there'll be an exit to the overworld entrance.


The Girl will be found through the Golden Gun code in Golden Eye:

left up right down right up up

After this is just me making notes:

Memory = 0
First Room: 

Load 2 NPC's giving hints and warnings

Go Up:  exits out
Go Left 2nd room Memory =1
Go Down:  Exit to Overworld
Go Right Dead End

Memory=1

2nd Room, Load some reptites to fight

Go Up:  3rd Room Memory=2
Go Left:  Exit Out Memory=0

Sounds good, but another question I have:
Why do they still live in tents? I mean to survive the attacks of the Reptites, there at least must be some kind of defending building with walls and stuff, otherwise the reptites would already have rushed over them(at least I would do that).

And something that could be added: Maybe a Group of warriors(if they have some) and Cecil planing how to defend themselves, and getting to the idea of a first strike(because that is what they do at the end, right?). It just seems so empty there.

Maybe some kind of palisade around the eastern corner of the map, and the stuff where they live in inside this defense line(maybe a bit like the one in the Prehistory?). And of course there should be a cave or something where they hide the young and women during an attack.

How about a spy group near the Terra tower? Marle gets the mission to get new infos on what the reptites seem to plan because Cecil needs everyone for defending, and there she has to fight a boss or something because the Reptites attacked the spys etc..
And another idea: someone from the spys with important information could be captured(because the reptites wants to know what the humans are lanning and stuff) and Marle has to rescue him. After she succeded, Cecil plans an assault, but before that Marle has to go to the TT and gets caught there.

Any maybe give the reptites a bit more talking(-> explaining why they hate humans etc. kinda like the Dragon in CC)

Just ideas, everything sounds so cliched though...

Cyber I like all of those ideas.  Though I'm not sure exactly how we could set up a more defensive location (remember were using dark ages tileset).  We may be able to make sort of a defensive ....snow wall, or maybe black omen tiles can make a good wall?  A good mapper will have to look into this.  I can put spies in the second tree location.  And they can give info as well as talk about their captured comrade.  Then Marle can help him escape after they are captured and he'll run and tell Cedric about Marle.

Then Cedric attacks (attempting to rescue Marle), and loses with Marle watching from the window.

And that will take us to the 1002 Reptite Scenario where there's only reptites.
