ST:TNG Guest Stars
« on: September 29, 2006, 03:09:33 am »
Holy bleeping, frelling, shnat there have been a bunch of guest stars in the Star Trek series...I was just watching an episode of TNG on G4 and WTF, there was an itty bitty Kirsten Dunst playing a telepath student of Lwaxana Troi (Deanna's mother, der)...Freaky weird...I wonder if that was before or after Interview With a Vampire...it looks like it could be both...*Wikis further*...I guess it was a year before...

Corbin Bernsen, in "Deja Q"
Kirsten Dunst, in "Dark Page"
Kelsey Grammer, in "Cause and Effect"
Teri Hatcher, in "The Outrageous Okona"
Joe Piscopo, playing "The Comic" (presumably himself) in a Holodeck simulation, in "The Outrageous Okona"
David Warner, in "Chain of Command" (he also had featured roles in the fifth and sixth Trek films)
John Tesh, playing a Klingon in "The Icarus Factor"
Nikki Cox, in "Pen Pals"
Ronny Cox, in "Chain of Command"
Vincent Schiavelli, in "The Arsenal of Freedom"
James Worthy of the Los Angeles Lakers, in "Gambit"
Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac, in "Manhunt"
Christopher McDonald, in "Yesterday's Enterprise"
Tony Todd, in "Sins of the Father" and "Redemption"; he also guest-starred on DS9 and Voyager
Bebe Neuwirth, in "First Contact"
Famke Janssen, in "The Perfect Mate"
Mae Jemison (the first minority female astronaut), in "Second Chances"
Renée Jones of Days of Our Lives, in "Aquiel"
Carolyn McCormick, in "11001001" and "Future Imperfect"
James Cromwell, in "Birthright" and "The Hunted"; he also guest-starred in DS9, and played the pivotal role of Zefram Cochrane in Star Trek: First Contact and the premiere episode of Enterprise
Stephen Hawking, playing himself in a Holodeck simulation, in "Descent"
Michelle Phillips, in "We'll Always Have Paris"
Ben Vereen, in "Interface"
Sabrina Le Beauf of the Cosby Show, in "Gambit"
Paul Sorvino, in "Homeward"
Diana Muldaur, who joined the crew as Dr. Pulaski for the second season after guest-starring twice in the original series
Carel Struycken, who played Lwaxana Troi's silent companion Mr. Homn in multiple episodes
David Ogden Stiers of M*A*S*H, in "Half a Life"
Terry O'Quinn of Lost (TV series), in "The Pegasus"
DS9 stars Armin Shimerman, in four episodes, and Alexander Siddig, in "Birthright"
Voyager stars Robert Duncan McNeill in "The First Duty", and Tim Russ in "Starship Mine"
TOS stars DeForest Kelley, Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, and Majel Barrett in various episodes
Several guest stars also became more well known as a result of their recurring roles in the series, including John de Lancie, Dwight Schultz, and Majel Barrett.

I don't know why I felt like sharing my finding (or why here), but I did, so enjoy some sci-fi nerdiness!

TNG became a very quick success, and in the first few seasons it was all the rage to do a cameo on the show--kinda like how the Simpsons was. Mick Jagger dressed up as a giant fish just to get his fifteen minutes of fame on TNG.

Damn the movies (save for beardless Riker in Insurrection), but I'll be blasted if I don't say that seeing Barclay in First Contact was enjoyable. Now, if only they had used Q somewhere...

Oh, score. I just got a bunch of TV Guides featuring The Next Generation spotlights and interviews and stuff, and one with Kirk on the cover. Garage sales rule sometimes.

In Arnold Schwarenegger's movie "The Predator", Kevin Peter Hall, who played the role of the creature was from the TNG episode "The Price" as an alien delegate. In real life he is very tall, unfortunately he has passed on, but he definately made one hell of an imposing figure.

Now that you named the guest stars of TNG, why not the TOS, VOY, or DS9 series? :D

Whoa, these Patrick Stewart interviews are riveting. He doesn't read science fiction, and likes to wake up very early to have an hour to himself. He'd rather use space exploration money to fix the world for the time being, and once walked off Good Morning America after the weatherman broadcasted in a Starfleet uniform. I'll have to scan these for you guys.

I would really like to see that. I find that very interesting.

No matter what the case, I still admire the character he portrays.
