RX-XR
« on: September 15, 2006, 08:33:24 pm »
I recently posted somewhere (i think in gamefaqs) about how sometimes I name the Epoch the RX-XR...This name comes from within Trigger, but it comes from two sources...1) A kid in Porre talks about (or his grandpa talks about him talking about it) wanting to pilot the RX-XR and 2) RX-XR is the name of the robot which keeps your best scores when racing Jhonny in the future.

Is this just a weird coincidence? Is there some deeper meaning behind the weird serial number? Is there perhaps some real-world parallel? This hasn't already been gone over, right?

I've checked the script, and apparently the robot is called Rx-xR, while Tata's grandpa speaks about a spaceship called XR-RX (the letters are inversed). I don't know if they refer to something special though...

Yeah, and RX-XR in the Japanese version is called Rinse. She's a giant fangirl.

Well, Johnny's hair is praised a lot, and the rinse bit might refer to rinsing the hair? I dunno...  :?

Interesting. Just yesterday while playing the rom of Chrono Trigger, I too noticed the quote form the old grandpa of Tartar (though the version I played said his name was Tata, I prefer the true translation anyday.). Anyways...it's a very interesting coincidence indeed... :o
