Magus Vs Lavos

I know that is not easy to argue about Belthasar skills, but, would not be more reasonable trace Lavos's energy, instead just look underground for Lavos. I think we should give more credit to Belthasar, when he say that Lavos disappeared.  Maybe the summoning spell use dimensional warp like the telepod so Belthasar agent could not trace Lavos energy. Or Magus was trying to banish Lavos from Earth.

Magus explicitly states that he was summoning Lavos to his castle. This wasn't about just hurling Lavos back into space; Magus wanted to kill Lavos.

Send Lavos to the space, like a rocket, I do not know . To banish Lavos to another place could be a good way to destroy  a enemy, like the Black Hole spell.

Edit:
I think it is better now...Sorry.

I don't know if the Compendium has started to give awards for such things as 'Worst Grammer In A Post' yet, but Swordmaster, you'd be a sure nomination in my books...

From what I could decipher...

I think that hurling Lavos back into space and using the force of a black hole are two completely different things. A black hole isn't simply a worm hole where if you go in one end you come out the other end somewhere...Well, I guess it could be, but you're gonna die first way before you ever find out from the pressure and the force of it all...

I don't know if it must be taken litterally and if it means anything but, in the Japanese version of Magus' invocation, he says something like "exchange this Planet's life for..." (...Lavos?).

In the English version:

Quote from: CT script

[Magus]
   Neuga, ziena, zieber, zom...

Now the chosen time has come...

   Exchange this world for...!

We need see the Japanese version of what Belthasar say.

According to go right corner's Translation FAQ, the exact translation should have been :
Quote
<Magus, altar room>
Voice: Da zuma rafua rou raira....
Kneel down before me, valleys and rivines of Heaven and Earth...
Take this Mother Earth's life-force to.....
 Frog: Maou!!
 Maou: It's that damned frog....
How has your life been since then?
 Frog: I appreciate this form...!
Frog: Look at what I have obtained...!
 Maou: Hou....
       You have the Grandleon.....
Maou: But this time, will the others allow you to use it properly?
Maou: The black wind begins to howl....
       Okay, come and get me.....
If you are prepared to die!

About Belthasar I don't know...

Quote from: CT script

OZZIE: Harharhar...

I'm sure Sir Magus has already
   called for reinforcements...!

   Wait until Lavos arrives!!

OZZIE: I shan't be defeated!
No form of attack will break MY
   barrier!

Quote from: Chrono Trigger Translations FAQ, version 0.1

<Ozzie, throne room>
Binegar: *panting*
Frog: You can't get away this time, Binegar.
Binegar: Gu ge ge..... Maousama has already summoned him....
         Lavos-sama!!
I shall not be defeated, I will not be defeated!
My barrier can withstand any attack!

It seens that when the party arrive at the magus' chamber, Lavos was already there. What think you?

Ozzie says Lavos is already summoned, but Magus is in the midst of summoning him. I think Ozzie merely felt the massive energies of the spell getting started, and, given his confidence in Magus' abilities, assumed that Lavos was as good as summoned at that point.

Then again, the thought that he was fully summoned at some point ties in to Belthasar's observation of Lavos disapearing. I still think that Lavos' actual summoning occured during the battle with Magus.
