Chrono Trigger remake

I'm just throwing an idea out there, I'm not really good with scripting or modding etc, but, it seems to me that someome should start another chorno trigger remake project. I know the last 2 got C&D letters but that was 3 years ago. Now around that time there was still talk of porting Chrono Trigger to the DS and just a year before possibly even a sequal. At this point it almost certainly looks like it won't happen. Being 12 years from the original release I doubt they'd pursue a group of people remaking the game anymore. I was just wondering if anyone else felt like someone should form up a group and start another remake project. Even if the project does get shut down it will show one thing to the makers; Even though they keep shutting them down people still keep trying to remake the game, this could in fact send a better message than letters to them; if so many people would be willing to contribute and help make a remake it might just show the devolpers that there might be a market for a remake or sequel. Is this a bad idea, or is anyone willing to start a remake project or is my idea really bad and should I be flamed unmercifully? Heck I'd even be willing to lend what little skills I have in this area to help if someone started one of these projects. Thaks for any comments.

A big reason they get shut down is because of COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT. if you copy it exactly you'd get shut down, you may not though if you changed the name, and added extra stuff, it wouldn't be exactly the same.

If you want to talk copyright infringment your idea would get put down too because even though you changed a few things you still carry the same plot of the same and characters likenesses are the same, you don't have to copy something exactly to be copyright infringement, don't assume I don't know about copyright infrigement. The reason I brought this up is because I believe that after a number of years they aren't going to care and since they are no longer looking for viable business oppurtunities in the series maybe now they might not be so hasty to shut down a remake project. Now if anyone actually would like to respond to my actual question, unlike the above post only stating why they where shut down (which every one knows why) , does any one think that it would be a good idea to start new remake project, if so why if not why not , as I said before I'm just throwing ideas out there.

I'd like to see it done. =] Any ideas on how you'd be remaking it? It'd be interesting to see it done with RPG Maker XP.

You've got an interesting idea. Although a little vague, if you really want it to happen, then try it. I'll certainly be supporting such an idea 100%. ^^

Well, ideally I'd like to continue where the other projects left off if there is anything salvagable from the past 2 projects, or any workers from them that want to try and help that would be great. If not I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get a hold of Quake 4 engine if at all possible to remake. If enough people are interested I'll definetly help with founding this project. But first I need to know if any people would be willing to help with this project. With any skills in the needed areas.
