I hate MMORPG.   It's a total waste of time and money.

And that's why Ultima Online is the one and only MMORPG that's good.

no, there are some free good ones, with some awesome graphics, like Last Chaos, has graphics of Guild Wars, Legend of Ares is also good, and Hero is good, but to complex for me

cept graphic dont matter in MMOs which need gameplay not just eyecandy
yeah, i wasn't saying SPACIFICALY that the graphics matter, and the game play is awesome in Legend of Ares, Last Chaos, and Hero, but with Last Chaos, and Hero, you need a good ass computer to run it.

its specifically FYI...
ok, ok i was just making a general statement..

had a look at those games sites cept ares (i will in a bit) hero looks mediocre, last chaos looks graphically like a L2 clone and has story reminicent of both L2 and diablo but well done enough that if they added in more classes and some innovative gameplay elements it could do well.

edit: looked at ares, since its so PVP based if the classes are balenced and its gameplay revolves around the fact that it a mainly pvp game it could do interesting things there, but since it seems to limited to "this is a mainly PVP" game i wouldn't expect much.

never played L2...and of course it's gonna look like a clone, that's what most free ones are, clones

when i say its a clone i really mean it looks like a clone, the model styles look exactly the same. even the masses of clone MMOs that come out in korea often tend to vary themselves more than that.
most free ones aren't trying to be clones, they just tend to borrow ideas from other MMOs and end up as one as a result rather than emulating anothers style.

Wrong. All those MMORPGs you mentioned suck ass. The only online rpg which is open-ended, customizable and fun enough to make your time (highest of quality time, I must say) worth spending with is UO. Not to mention its scripts which can be freely modified to create a whole range of gameplay options. No freeserver of UO is like another.

Other MMORPGs are just boring. UO is one of the ugliest online games available nowadays, maybe losing only to Tibia or something like it, but no online game is able to provide you as much fun as it does.

I've tried Lineage, Silkroad, Guild Wars, Ragnarok, Conquer, Priston Tale, and others which I can't even remember the name. None of these was able to keep me interested for more than a week, well, except for Silkroad because of its whole Chinese theme. Still, I think I didn't play it for more than a couple of weeks, and then I was just bored.

It is funny how such an old and ugly game as UO is actually able to take your standards so high that most every other MMO you play afterwards becomes boredom itself.

Perhaps the only other MMORPG to get me interested would be WoW, but the hell I'm gonna spend my money with an MMO.

I'm just turned off by the entire Second Life idea in general. There is too much to be experienced in this world to willingly yield your time to the limits imposed by polygonal worlds.

Well, to rephrase that, I'm turned off by the massive people integration of Myspace in general. There has got to be some kind of evolutionary gregarity behind it all. I know people who spend hours on it for leisure, just posting all over pages and messing with their own. It's a tremendous circular scheme for wasting time by accomplishing nothing and going nowhere with endless social constructs. I just don't have that much to say to my friends, and prefer to keep myself engaged in some kind of enterprise with regularity.

Jesus, 16 year old ZeaLitY would call me some kind of tremendous nerd.

Is that why you turned down my friend request?  :(

wow is a piece of shit dont bother, its fun for awhile then gets boring as hell and stays boring as hell.

if you were talking to dan about the MMOs being crappy meh, if that was directed at me i said potential not that they acctually were.

most old games tend to be better because they were the first (or one of the earlier) to do a certain thing so they knew what they were doing more than a MMO copying another one.

lineage is only good if you manage to get into a decent group of players earlier on, its easier on some servers than others but if you don then its hard to get hooked since is not a good 100% solo game.

i havent played UO yet so i wont comment on that, would you care to talk about in more detail he stuff it does well?

Conquer & Eudemons ARE THE WORST!!!!! I've played those MMOs but it suck in most aspects.

The day humanity evolves beyond popular opinion is the day humanity sets asides its differences and works towards improvement.

Basically, Ultima Online plays and feels different from most any other MMORPG out there.
