Sorry for double post; only way I could bump the thread, which is preferable to starting anew, apparently.
I got the Children of Hurin yesterday, and finished it today. I have to say, I think it surpasses The Hobbit, The Silmarillion and the Lord of the Rings in my opinion. It takes one of, if not THE best tale in the Silmarillion and gives it the accessibility of LotR without losing any of the depth or scale. And, of course- Turin is much preferable to a whiny Hobbit, and Beleriand definitely surpasses 'modern' middle earth in sheer awesomeness.
Anyone else got the book and wants to share impressions?
