Evaluate Grobyc based on his character design, combat usefulness, and Tilt factor -- which can mean anything, from how much he strikes you as cool to how important he is to the plot.

Character design: Grobyc's got a neat style. He's like the blue motif of Porre on steroids, and has enough bells and whistles to make give him a sufficient edge.

Combat: Grobyc edges out even Serge in strength and defense, making him a primarily physical fighter.

Tilt: Grobyc's personality had more room for development. In fact, he was meant to get some but for whatever reason these lines never made it into Cross:

Another opportunity to show a perspective on humanity would have enhanced his character, but competing with 40 others late in the game precludes that. Still, he brings something fresh to the table, and those lines are canon despite not appearing. Since tilt doesn't define everything, the other categories and his interesting representation of AI in the age of 1020 A.D. make him a B character.

[Kyronea]

Character Design: As Zeality said, he's basically the Porre motif on steroids. He also makes Robo look like a child's toy.

Combat Usefulness: After you lose Harle, he's your best Black element period. He also has an amazingly awesome hair laser technique. Who doesn't love hair lasers?

Tilt: He had a lot of potential for character development that either did not make it in or was wasted a bit. But I like him, though I would render him an important NPC rather than a PC were I redoing Chrono Cross to be more like Trigger when it comes to character focus.

Final Grade: B.

Design: He has a cool look for a cyborg.

Combat: Two words: Lazer Hair. AWESOME!

Tilt: Like Zeality said, he had potential to become a huge part of the storyline. Also Lazer Hair.

Con: I-couldn't-stand-this-kind-of-dialog.

Final Grade: B

Grobyc: I'm-a-firein-mah-lazor!

did you guys forget his 3rd move? its like the collest in the game, in fact, all his moves rule.
he has some good personallity, in that he knows he cant do anything but fight , kill, and destroy. but think about it, he sounds regretful.
just try to think of what feelings and thoughts are going through his head.

and hes a great fighter too.

Design: Pure awesome. Love the hair, the bandana, and those arm... things. Looks very cool.

Combat: Very powerful, from what I've seen. Didn't use him very much, but I can safely say he's pretty good.

Tilt: Saves your ass in Viper Manor, just plain rules there. After that, nothing much. Gets bonus points for having missing character development.

Final Grade: A

Design: He's a cool robot. I liked that he stood with one foot slightly off the ground in battle. I thought it was a cool touch, but I couldn't really say why.

Combat: He was a beast. I had him in my party most of the time, once I got him.

Tilt: The accent is obnoxious, and I he seems too advanced for the time, given that over a millenium later, robots still don't look that human.

Irrelevant. If a cyborg can have that kind of technological capability in 1000 A.D., a robot built in the era of 1999 A.D. ought to be at least as technological, and probably more so.

You are correct. He is actually the result of a greater level of technological knowledge and skill than a robot. This makes him even more out of place.
