Chrono Cross is a Lovecraftian RPG
« on: September 20, 2007, 10:42:59 pm »
Chrono Cross is perhaps the most depressing game I have ever played.

The more I play Chrono Cross, the more depressing the story gets.  First I learn that I'm just a pawn in a Lovecraftian game between the Dragon God and FATE, and then I learn that they themselves are mere pawns in an even more Lovecraftian game between Belthasar and the Time Devourer.

My head hurts.  And the vague ending makes my head hurt even more.

Anyway, while I'm at it, are there any Playstation RPGs that you guys recommend?

How is Chrono Cross Lovecraftian? No one goes crazy when they learn the truth. And Chrono cross shows that humans are able to fight back, this is the total opposite of Lovecraft who's story are all about nightmarish creatures that man can't comprehend, or have any chance of defeating.
