The term spoof is far more accurate here than the word satire.  A satire is more specific than just making fun of something.  Also, I hate to be a total downer, but hacks like this don't seem all that viable to me.  Humor loses its appeal when it's something that you have to spend time to achieve.  After all, I've already beaten the game -- it'd be just like beating the game again... but with some funny text slipped in.  In contrast to the CT+ hack or Crimson Echoes, this adds nothing to the game itself; however, if it were not just a text hack and actually changed the game and brought something to it, I would be more apt to play.

Then what about the new Retranslation hack? Are you saying that that particular text hack is useless?

No.  It adds to the meaning of the piece.  It's the difference between an alternate translation of, say, The Illiad (one that allows the reader to have a fuller understanding of the book) and a copy of The Iliad with dick jokes spattered about.  One's good for a laugh, but then you get tired of it, since... well, it's hundreds of pages of dick jokes.  The other adds depth.  Sorry for coming off as an arrogant prick, by the way - I didn't mean to criticize this hack so much as suggest ways to better it.  By adding to the plot or experience of the game by reworking the storyline/gameplay/layout, the player has a reason to strive to complete the game outside of getting some kicks out of it.

One of the points I forgot to put up there is that I intend for this to not be filled with dick jokes, it's going to be as clean a hack as possible. And the whole idea behind it is for people to get a few kicks out of it, and for me to get some kicks out of writing it. If the plot changes along the way (which it might, but no guarantees) then that's a side-effect. I'm not trying to make a new game here, I'll leave that to the professionals. But if someone wants to play through Chrono Trigger again, and add a little spice to it so it's a bit different from the last time, my hack will achieve that.

Well, not dick jokes, that was just an example.  Again, I'm not really trying to criticize you.  Just suggestions.  I hope your hack turns out wonderfully.
