ISP patch issues
« on: January 01, 2008, 10:29:34 am »
Hi I patched chrono trigger.  I have used isp patches before and use both znese and snes9X, but when I loaded the rom it just went to the title screen which showed who translated it, it starts to fade and then nothing...  I tried patching both Chrono Trigger (J).smc, and Chrono Trigger (J) (PSX Version).smc since the first did not work.  I am not sure what to do now.

Yeah, it has to be with Chrono Trigger (U) or whatever the basic English ROM is called. It might be...

1) The emulator. Try running it in the latest version of ZSNES.
2) The patch. Headered.ips works for most ROMs, but if you've ever opened your ROM with Temporal Flux, it doesn't have a header. So you'd have to use Unheadered.ips. Using one when the other is needed leads to failure.
3) The ROM. Sometimes, ROMs you download can be badly interleaved or corrupted in some fashion, so perhaps redownloading the US ROM and patching it might work.
