Re-Translation suggestion
« on: March 01, 2008, 03:48:39 pm »
I was reading through part of the re-translation and got to the part talking about Great Ozzie.  In Japanese, Great Ozzie is named, "大魔王ビネガー" and the Re-translation calls him "Great Magus Vinnegar."

First of all, I understand that Magus' name in Japanese is 魔王.  That being said, that is not a name but more of a title.  魔王 literally means something along the lines of "Evil King" or "Dark Lord."  What I'm trying to get at is that the Re-translation should call Great Ozzie something more like "Great Dark Lord Vinnegar."

Other than that, the Re-translation looks really good.  I speak Japanese fluently and can mostly read it if it's at the video-game level (I wouldn't be able to translate interviews and such though  :(

"Magus" is used for consistency.

Point taken, although it seems to make little sense considering that's probably not what the Japanese intended.
Thanks for the explanation.
