Suddenly me asking a perfectly logical question is somehow interpreted as me flying off the handle or something...(>_>){?)

By the way, Satoh, the way I've always imagined the Rainbow shell and Rainbow blade as a sort of oil in water type of prismatic look, too.  So I like the way the blade looks.

WOOT I'm not alone!

I have a few designs for the masamune but I don't quite have the material skills to make them yet... (I still can't get the cyrstal to look.... crystally...)

Honestly I too imagined it to have this kind of oil-spill quality, as a bright multicolored rainbow sword seems kind of...well retarded. But then again if you're smashing someone in the face with it they're not going to argue with you.

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it, if one were to coat a Katana blade with titanium oxide and apply electric currents of various intensity for various durations you could make your own Rainbow Sword.

Too bad the red katana isn't so easy... I've been trying to figure out how to do that without losing the integrity of the blade or losing the reflective finish... but it doesn't seem possible.
