Hmmm...I had a theory, I dunno why this would happen but:

What if King Gaurdia XXXIII didn't die straight away. What if Crono and Marle got married, but then by some terrible mistake Crono killed King Gaurdia. Crono's banished to Medina where he becomes a hermit or maybe even banished to Porre where he is attacked by surprise by the Porre army when they are about to leave to attack Gaurida.

For Crono being in the enxt game (if there will be one) they might aswell throw magus in it to satified fans.

For some reason I hope they won't make a next game because of fans (atleash not noly for fans) since CC was made for that purpose and they rushed it, good plot line but they threw out Magus because it wa stoo ahrd to put him in the story...

Ya know...they wouldn't even have to make a sequal to make millions. They could just remake Chrono Trigger with amazing 3D graphics.

Anyone remember Chrono Ressurection? The most awesome looking game ever, and Square Enix closed them down....

I think it's lame that Square have got to the point where fans have to make up story for them (the king Crono thing).....they should have thought of a sensible reason themselves..

Maybe  (In the Chrono Trigger original timeline, before New Game+) Crono saved Marle by dropping her into the sea from the baloon but then he flew into space and died!

Alternatively I had a good idea. Why don't Square make CT sequals (forget CC for a second), a different game for each main ending. So CC is a game for the standard ending, then you have a game with reptites or something (reptite ending) , and a few different ones for some of the New Game + endings. It would only work for games where the ending changes the world drastically which isn't many of them

That would be 11 games in one and I rather like one big game, but with the 44 (or so) character from CC they could have done that -_-

What if Gaspar lied and Crono can't live anymore because the Time Egg effect would only be temporary? This would give Lucca another reason (beside scientist curiosity) to have tried to create Time Eggs. And since Belthasar has only got one, this could also explain why he used it for Schala and not Crono/Guardia.

You mean that after a while, Crono's clone that got killed by Lavos would be switch to Crono and then Crono will disapear, that make no sense to me

Damn good theory if u ask me. This here is a more than a theory, it gives reasons (such as the whole thing about Lucca), IT TIES INTO THE GAMES THAT ARE ALREADY MADE PERFECTLY.

But leaves one thing for us to ask...

I don't think that the Time Egg would be temporary.  If it changes time, in order to reverse that, it would have to reverse whatever happened in the first place.  An analogy I used in another situation was with MSPaint (or any paint program, really).  If you make a mark, the mark won't fade away.  It requires another action to remove the mark.  Also, Lordchander, you obviously didn't sleep, as you posted a few things after this post.  You sure are a busy guy...
