No just no.  I am not a troll.  All of my opinions were well sunstantiated and made perfect sense.  I stopped responding because I'm tired of arguing with you compendium fanboys, Zeality most of all.

Lolability meter, from 1 to lol is at 11 right now.

Thank you!  I've been convinced for years now that OCR, despite having some really good music, is made up almost entirely of dicks and assholes, and occasionally some mixture of the two.  Nice to see some confirmation on that.

Heheheheh an I've seen complaints that ZeaLitY's got a big ego. This other guy is just funny. Not a troll, but uses troll logic...how quaint.

I saw this on the first page:

Quote
This is all just a publicity stunt, a way to get out of the project that he knew he would never finish.
Three points
1) What good would publicity do for a project that would never be finished? (also if he/she mean for the fourm then well it was, but it also caused alot of annoying internal strife)
2) ZeaLity wasn't the only one on working on the project, these people did like five seconds of research.
3) Better to be infamous then nothing’ right ZeaLitY?

And on page 22

Quote
And now I wonder, if this all some elaborate plan of Zeality's to get back at OC for kicking him out?

Wow such arrogance! They post a topic about it and boom now it's a plot be ZeaLitY to annoy them! Hey I didn't know CE was being made for them! I love silly people who think they are the center of the world. I'm guess the rules state if you act sensible you will be banned there.

It seems to me they arn't stupid, they a gulible and believe everything they are told by fellow members. I guess ignoreing them is for the best ^^ and attempt to refute them will only make it worse.

The entire remixing community has been grossly mishandled, and my only rationale is that the antisocial nerd archetype + the musical egomaniac archetype = nuclear drama. Djp bans at the drop of a hat, virt reads every chat log of VGMix's IRC channel produced to see if anyone's spoken ill of him (he once banned someone from VGMix because they wrote on their blog that their girlfriend didn't like him), and most of the judges, moderators, and other administrators are like-minded idiots.

Naturally, the rule for any drama there is to lock the thread, which only makes the arguing parties get more pissed off and scale up the dispute. Banning is very common, which undermines the community by alienating productive members and shutting out constructive criticism or disagreement. And in the case of OCR, djpretzel appoints judges who agree with his musical tastes, and thus OCR has gone from originally passing a diverse collection of remixes to merely hosting anything that fits an extremely narrow view of quality. Original pieces are thrown out because they don't have the required amount of improvisation, or weren't made with the proper high-end gigasamples in Reason. It's complete bullshit, and now that virt is too lazy and inept to finish VGMix, the remixing community pales to what it once was. Dwelling of Duels is probably the most fertile ground for new remixes, and I of course try to support ThaSauce's remixing offshoot.

Anyway, as Ramsus said, if you want an example of how not to run a forum community, look at remixing sites. If you noticed at the Compendium, hardly anyone is ever banned, arguments run their course until the parties are tired of arguing or resolve the dispute, and administrators don't stick their nose in everything and micro-manage the affairs of the members.

I really wish I could figure out why romhacking.net has so much drama, though. Every month, there's some new massive flamewar, locked thread, and bannings. It's made sort of a hostile, suspicious atmosphere over there, and now we're on the wrong side of things because Nightcrawler is convinced the cease & desist order is fake. Thus, both CE threads were locked, so no one can even discuss the hack as seen on the Youtube videos.

I agree with you ZeaLitY. I used to be a member a few years back on OCR, but I left after people started to become immature in their discussions and arguements.

As for a central remixing community, even Dwelling of Duels can be hard for newcomers. Mostly for the fact that you need at least one main live instrument in the song. It still is one good place to go, but we do need one good general remixing community that is open to everyone and pertains to all styles/genres of music, that isn't run by assholes.

Too bad it's hard to come by nowadays.

If they think this is one of zeality's "Oh So Infamous" publicity stunts (yeah, right), they should really REALLY stop posting in that topic.

Dumbasses are just succumbing to their own demise... =D
