The Chrono Trigger soundfont incomplete?
« on: April 10, 2009, 07:08:57 am »
So what happened to completing the CT soundfont?    I enjoy listening to the SNES remix midis and wish for the sound to be authentic but there is not ONE complete set.

There are sooooo many remixes for the Zeal theme that it would be fun to listen to then using the true original sounds.

The CT instrument set that exists is a joke and lacks many chrono trigger instruments.

Edit:   There is was someone working on ripping soundfonts from smaller games using something called OPEN SPC which I would like to try out if it doesn't require Sound Blaster. http://www.shakal.net/lunar/misc/soundfonts/

Super Mario World  (mostly square waves.etc)  http://www.shakal.net/lunar/misc/soundfonts/Super%20Mario%20World.sf2

http://www.shakal.net/lunar/misc/soundfonts/Zelda%203.sf2    (Only 13 instruments believe it or not)

You'll also need this player http://www.un4seen.com/ and this plug in to load in soundfonts.      http://www.un4seen.com/download.php?xmp-midi

It also has an example soundfont called Chorium you can load straight from the package.

If you have Sound Blaster Live you can go to Audio HQ and you'll have  a thing called Sound Font loader or something.

I've already released several instrument sample wav packs that anyone could create a soundfont easily with.  I've got almost all SFC/SNES RPGs and a few PSX RPGs dumped.  When I get a computer with internet access I'll upload the rest of them.  Somewhere on this site exsist some of my released material.

Thanks, but I don't have a computer or the internet right now.  Life's throwing me a curveball.  I went from making $18.46 per hour to $6.80 (minimum wage).  Thanks to the economy crash I am no longer making any money.   :(
