Chickenlump, a long time rom hacker with a keen interest in Chrono Trigger, has released the second version of his Zeal Battle. The patch pits the player against the royal family of Zeal (not counting the King or Alfador, of course). The new version replaces the scenery, and Schala will fight back. It's definitely an experience! Apply to an unheadered ROM, and simply enter Gato's Exhibit at the fair to begin the battle. You can grab the .ips patch http://cc.herograw.com/Black/Other/ZealBattle2.zip here. If you're unfamiliar with this kind of thing, you need to download that .ips, have an unheadered Chrono Trigger rom (if you don't know, just open it with Temporal Flux, which will remove the header), and use http://fusoya.panicus.org/lips/ Lunar IPS to apply the patch to the rom.

Don't forget that a spectacular Temporal Flux preview has been posted.

I haven't defeated them yet with the new patch, so I'm not sure.

i applied the patch... but when i enter the millenial fair it turns to a pink screen... what am i doing wrong?  i applied it to the CT patch, is that wrong?

Your ROM is probably headered. Get a fresh one, open it with TF and remove the header.

So its only a battle against them then? The screen shot has marle and crono with max life and magic so am i too assume this is one of those "nightmare" battles that you should only hope to beat if your levels are super high?


so not something you should stumble into the first time thru.

I would love to try this but my Chrono rom is the wrong version, and I don't really know where to get good one. If sombody would send me their patched one at supaninja_77@hotmail.com I would be very greatful  :D
