« on: August 24, 2010, 03:46:44 pm »
Breaking my Hiatus too post some sad news Satoshi Kon has just passed away. I know this pass had a large amount of his fans. As he being, one of if not, my most personally beloved director and screenwriter I felt I should share. We will forever miss his work.

I've only seen his Perfect Blue, but I remember it being a pretty decent movie. That's a shame for him to go out so early.

Awww, man, what a sad day. Thanks for letting us know Kebrel, and for giving us a rundown of his work. Millennium Actress just takes the cake as far as anime is concerned, IMO. Now I'm wondering what Dream Machine is.

Only 47! Any word on how he died?

Lung cancer, and Dream Machine was going to be about a world with only robots in them and the society they have if I recall.

That sucks indeed. Pancreatic Cancer is really the most horrible of cancers IMO because it's really hard to catch and then once you do catch it, it's almost impossible to survive it. I hope that research into it will be expanded in the future along with better ways to test for it.

He was one of my very favorite directors too D:. RIP Kon-san.

Ah, I recall this news a subscribed artist posted on her journal.

One word: "Goddammit"...

I still haven't gotten over Yoshito Usui, and now Satoshi?! Dammit, the world's gonna miss these great people...

Memories was a great watch, even in the translated English. Magnetic Rose was actually my favorite from it. Sad to see such a brilliant mind pass from this world, But he leaves behind him a legacy of inspiration in future artists.

God bless.
