As of right now, there is no official new Chrono Game in the mix, at least that I know of. If someone knows otherwise, please correct me. However there are a lot of fan-game projects in the workings right now that should be wonderful to follow and eventually play :)

SE's Twitter account hit its 20,000 follower, so they decided to announce the release of CC on the JPSN store. However, mind you, the JPSN still has PS1 classics that has not made their way to the American PSN store, such as Xenogears and Vagrant Story. We may not see CC come to our PS3's right away, but I assure you that games like Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Threads of Fate, and Vagrant Story, for example, are inbound to the American PSN store.

There is a slight chance that the PSN CC may have "differences" from its PS1 predecessor.

Regarding a new Chrono game, while the Compendium is unaware of developments for such a project, I would highly suggest you join the other mass amount of gamers, when the time is right, and purchase the PSN version of CC (even if you own it already). Support the prospect of a new game and show SE that the fanbase is still very much alive. Spread the word and tell your friends about it as well.

Where'd you hear this? What kind of differences?

Oh... Hehehehe... Dont you worry, i'll be buying that as soon as it comes out, this is a dream come true! Otherwise i wouldnt have been posting this thread. Of course im going to buy it. Its one smart thing Sony has done... I just need to get my PS3s YLOD fixed... But yeah, anyhow, its an instant buy for me. If it adds trophy support, im going  to go crazy!  :D

Just a slight chance, nothing definite as of yet...

That is good to hear! I do not want to burst your bubble, but trophy support will not be a feature, even though it would be a nice addition. Thanks for supporting the franchise!

I  am more than glad to support the Chrono franchise. I will be able to contribute towards a new Chrono game this way, and hopefully this makes the PSN top 10 downloads, and sells insanely well. I want games like this again. I want the 90s again... I dont know if ANY of you gamers out there feel the same way i do, but i seriously think, with 100% assurance that videogames today are EASILY at an all-time low... Every once in a while a GOOD, genuinely GOOD game comes out; we've got the Bioshocks, Mass Effects, but not like how it used to be. I remember way back when Chrono Cross first came out ( didnt even know about the game, let alone the name!) i got a demo disc from PSU i believe, or a magazine of some sort, popped it in, looked at the upcoming game trailers... In the list was "Chrono Cross". So i start playing the trailer. (it was actually the intro cinematic to the game) As soon as Scars of time started playing, especially when the violin parts came in, i KNEW that this game was going to be something special. The ambience, emotion, and atmosphere that i felt in the intro cinematic made me get the game INSTANTLY. Mind you, that was only the intro, the rest of the game is...well, i think you guys already know .      Will i get CC again on the PSN? You're DAMN right I will. Gaming back in the day > Gaming today

And what sort of gaming hell and mediocrity are we going through now? It's simple; developers are pulling what i like to call a: "Let's do what everyone else is doing!"
 CONGRATULATIONS, BOYS! Very, very original! *cough cough* Call of Duty...*cough*

Seriously, i hate greed, and what the gaming industry has come to today, another reason why i've made the decision to go to PC gaming permanently after this generation. I've had enough.

I'll apologize ahead of time if i've been a little off topic, but i'm really serious when it comes to this subject. The epicness of Chrono Cross made me think of what used to be gaming...*sigh*

Chrono Cross is probably the best RPG on the Playstation, and I've been telling this to every modern RPG aficionado I know for quite some time. I will make sure the ones who own a PSP/PS3 buy. I would buy as well, but I don't own a HD console or a PSP. I'm stuck back in 2006 or so as far as modern graphics and the like are concerned - this is apparently all that matters in today's gaming climate.

I would have to take FFIX over Chrono Cross as far as RPGs on the PS go,  mostly because it was closer to the old-school vibe I was hoping for (and didn't get) with CC...  I'm with you on the 2006 thing though.  To me the graphics are so good now compared to 20 years ago, the improvements are so slight with each new console it doesn't make as much of a difference to my eyes.

Exactly. It doesn't look like Pong? Then sweet! Now how's the GAME?! :)

It should be emphasized there are no publicly stated plans from SE to release CC on PSN anywhere but Japan. They haven't done so on a number of games, for whatever reason, including Xenogears

If it does come, I think that would be fantastic and it would do really well. But that's currently, unfortunately, still an "if".

I assure you that Xenogears and other Square classics will be out on the PSN in 2011. Trust me  8)

I'd like to have a legitimate PSN collection, all I've got are FF7(never owned it before, always borrowed or rented), Soul Reaver, and Twisted Metal 2. Xenogears and Chrono Cross WOULD be the cake.
