I'm a bit curious. I know Prophet's Guile and Crimson Echoes were canned because they were unauthorized modifications to copyrighted property, but I'm not too clear on the reasoning behind Square's termination of CT Resurrection. Was the project intended to profit off sales of CTR or something?

From what I remember, Square was just protecting its intellectual property. CTR was a recreation of a few scenes from the game, and not a total remake. I don't know what engine/language they were using, but it was something unrelated to the ROM.
