Can't rename Serge "Crono"

I pulled out my old copy of CC today, because I'm the kind of person who replays games they've already beaten multiple times in their hours of leisure rather than be productive. I discovered something interesting though; you can't rename Serge "Crono" at the start of the game. You can name him quite literally anything but Crono. The game simply refuses to accept it as a name and forces you to enter something else.

I encourage anyone with a copy of the game to try it out for themselves, because I had never even heard of it until now. It's interesting there's still things we're learning about a game released roughly 12 years ago.

I came across that information a couple of years ago, so it's already knocking around the Internet somewhere. (I believe "Chrono" is also forbidden.)

That was the first thing I tried to do in 2000 the first time I got my hands on a copy. Old news to me, haha!

It's annoying considering that implies one of two things: 1. Crono originally was planned to have a speaking role but they gave up on a ton of content and/or 2. They wanted to make damn sure you don't confuse Serge with Crono.

Made me think they were brothers and I was pissed when I learned how Crono's not even in the game.

Now thats interesting! Quick someone try to name Luccia Lucca or whats her face serge's girlfriend on the beach that I never recruit Marle. Or maybe just Guile Magus XD

nah, all those would probably work, though its interesting it wont let you name Serge Crono.

I know what you mean Bekkler I got CC and I was just waiting and waiting and waiting to show that it was indeed related to chrono trigger in any way besides the end battle victory music. Instead we got hey u get to watch Robo die and Lucca's dead oh and Crono and Marle probably died too. I guess the best we get are the three ghost children.

And once things finally got juicy in CC and you go back to save Kid in Lucca's orphanage my game would freeze. Every. time. So I still havent beaten it XD I have no idea what happens after that other then the things I read like kid is actually Schala and the time devourer and its all belthasar's fault and apparently no one remembers anything- maybe I don't want to beat the game. Although I did just buy it on ebay since the old one has been *broken* (smashed to pieces with a hammer) (end nerd rant)
