Here's what I received as a reply when I wrote to Square Enix in LA.
---------------

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Customer Support,

We appreciate your positive feedback regarding our past titles. We cherish the continued support from our customers and look forward to hearing your remarks regarding our upcoming games. Our parent company, SQUARE ENIX of Japan, has no current plans to create a another installment to that particular title at this time.  This is not to say that it will never happen, it's just that their development teams are currently focusing on numerous other projects.

Thanks,
Square Enix Customer Support

As for the Japan address, I got it translated by some guy on japan-zone.com:

Square Enix Co. Ltd.
10F Shinjuku Bunka Quint Building
Yoyogi 3-22-7
Shibuya-ku
Tokyo 151-8544

By the way, here's a picture of the building of Square Enix in Japan for those interested. The same dude that translated it sent me the link.

They must have a guy who looks at e-mails and pushes buttons all day to respond to them. He must get through quite a few too.

Easy job, no?

We should include how much we dislike the cease and desist letters.

Heh, probably just give them more reason to send them and route all the fan-made Chrono games out of the net. Including...wait for it...Crimson Echoes...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

hehe, hope that doesnt happen.

Lets take this from another POV, what would SE think if we send this? Are we going to include that there is a LARGE community that REALLY WOULD BUY IT?

Meh, so far, they've only shot down remakes of Chrono Trigger, not hacks or anything similar. I don't understand people's paranoia about that...I think sending anything that said "C&Ds suck" or anything even remotely similar will get a big "Yeah, that's nice " as a response.

Yes, probably because the remakes are a big hit on Sqaure itself. But you'd think they'd be like:

Head Dude: Hey look, it really looked like ppl wanted a remake, but because we C&D that last one, every1s gettin all pissed off about it!

Other dude: Hey well, how bout we make a remake and get lots of cash to continue draining Final Fantasy for all its worth?

Head Dude: Great idea!

We wish

Let's hope the Japanese people at Square don't interpret "lovers" as meaning the in-bed definition...  Then Square would say, "Geez, talk about a hentais...you freaks."

FYI if there is anyone that will listen, that's only S-E Japan, and they will only listen to a Japanese fanbase (and I don't even know if they'll be taken seriously... but if anything starts, it'll have to be there).
