Serge's death in Another World is by drowning. This is said in many places throughout the game, including the time you meet Another World's Leena for the first time:

Ok you're right. But, I think it was Wazuki that drowned him. The game also mentions that Wazuki kills him.

Where does it say that Wazuki/Lynx drowned Serge? I don't remember that, nor do I see any mention of it in the CC script.

well it doesnt say he actually killed him but it says he drowned and also says that Wazuki/Lynx killed him.   The villagers dont know that he got drowned by Wazuki.  but like i said, it says he gets killed by Wazuki/Lynx and he died by being drowned.

this is off the time line of the Compendium

http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Another_Timeline

and it says right at the begining:

=>1010 A.D.
-Serge is killed by Wazuki.

so i mean serge is killed by Wazuki, and Serge is killed gettin drowned?
 so just think it out for yourself

i dont think the message on his grave has anything to do with the means of how he died,
"what came from the sea"
i believe this refers to the belief all life came from the sea (which is true)
"has returned to the sea"
i would say this refers to a belief of the chrono series/arni village that when souls die they go back to the sea, or (this is unlikely) they sent his body out to sea and made his grave just so poeple would remember him or another part of a ritual, something like that.

And yet, Serge's death by drowning could also fit the phrase "has returned to the sea". This double meaning is what makes scripts like CC good.

As for the whole Wazuki kills Serge thing, I was kind of hoping for some in-game evidence to support it. The way I see it, FATE wants to release the Prometheus lock on the Frozen Flame, and if Serge did not need to be alive to do that, CC would have been a much shorter and less confusing game.

I got the idea that he got washed out to sea and drowned...so thus, a body would never be recovered, so he's returned to the sea.  But then, people would just know he disappeared, but wouldn't know how he died or IF he died.  So meh.

yeh i thought that, and personally i dont believe his body does get flooded into the sea and never found, but if it did that would make much more sense.
