Sentenal, as much as I agree that Magus can be fiendishly diabolical when he needs to be, he is by definition and anti-hero, not a villain. He is both a protagonist and an antagonist, but neither one exclusively.

I voted Zeal, because... well, ya can't get much more evil than being willing to endanger the entire world, including your own loyal followers and children, to attain immortality. She may have been touched in the head by Lavos, but she still made the choice and, for the icing on the cake, enslaved the Earthbound population to build the Ocean Palace. EBIL![/b]

The correct quote is:

"I love you so much... That is why sometimes I want to crush you to bits!"

And that's just her being bitter because humans are alive and she's not. Plus the fact they just witnessed the Dead Sea, one of her biggest screw-ups. Talk about a bad hair day.

Meh, semantics.

I chose Lynx, mostly because he was the only character that was able to take out one of the destined seven. Well, it appears that he did. And all the crazy screaming about Chrono Triggers and switching bodies. That too.

Magus would definately be the most diabolical character in the game.  He is so relentless in destroying Crono, as you can see when he assumes the "Prophet" role.  But I voted for Zeal.  When I think villian I think diabolical and she strikes me very much so.  The General, not so much, its not very clever at all what he does and he isn't as insane as Zeal is even though Lavos corrupted her.  HELL! Corruption makes a whole lot better of a tragic story.  Thats why so many people like Sephiroth, even though he stinks at being a villain.

he uses his to be a prophet to queen zeal as to get close to lavos and exact revenge, he thinks crono may come after him and so warns of this, i never noticed him relentlessly trying to destroy crono, they only faught once and that was when crono started on magus because they thought he was sumoning lavos.

Fiendishly diabolical, huh?  Then I'd have to go with Lynx.  Azala and the General were also diabolical, but I don't really consider Azala a villain due to the survival of the fittest thing, and the General didn't scare me at all.  As for the others, Dalton and Ozzie were jokes, and Queen Zeal was the entirely wrong kind of evil.  Whereas Lynx was a schemer, Zeal was just "gimme, gimme, gimme."  If it was just who was the better villain, I'd go with Zeal, but the most diabolical was Lynx.

Lynx was more or a less a pawn.  He just carried out what he was made to do, that wouldn't put him up there with people like Zeal.

If you look at it that way, you could just say that Zeal was simply insane and shouldn't be considered truly 'diabolical' at all...

In CC, pretty much everyone is a pawn in Belthasar's chess-set.

I went with Ozzie.  He didn't neccessarily have the resources to take over whatever he wanted, but he defintly had the intentions of doing it.  He saw the potential in Janus, and I'm sure sensing that Janus could destroy him, used him for his own advantages.  (Although Magus may have known anyway, just not cared).

Exactly! Heck, even he himself is a pawn in his own game!

But he was using it for "good", nto onyl rescusing someone, but trying to save all of time itself.  So, what it really for his selfish purposes?  Methinks no.
