- if you don't have a browser that does rough translations there are several commenters connecting it to Chrono Trigger. Something about a gear from a clock and setsuna meaning time- (except now we know it doesn't) (sob)  How its announcement is 'close' to the 20th anniversary of CT, the art style, Frog's theme and some other stuff I can't make out.

Is just another conspiracy theory, but can be a anagram, and TRF can be just a fake studio:

While I personally don't believe it could be related to the Chrono franchise, I do feel it's at least borrowing from it. That's an X-Strike if I've ever seen one. Plus, the battle system seems very similar to Trigger's: ATB, 3 characters, HP and AP/MP bar. I definitely don't mind the return to such a system.

Japanese gaming site, Nishibun has reported that former Square Executive Vice President, Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man who was responsible for bringing to the world such great video game series as Final Fantasy and Chrono, is about to return to the company. No official title has been given, but it’s rumored that he will return to produce three more games before he officially retires from the gaming industry.
 
The biggest (and only confirmed) game on that list is the next game in the Chrono series. Neither name nor storyline has been revealed, just that it will tie up all the loose ends from the first two games. Will Magus finally reunite with his long lost sister? Will Crono finally speak?
 
“We will tie up elements from both games,” an unnamed source told Nishibun. “You can expect to see both Crono and Serge united to fight the ultimate force. It’s all really going to be exciting, but I can’t say anymore on it than that.”

I wouldn't be so dismissive of that article.  It's probably the best news Chrono fans have gotten in years.  Since Final Fantasy VII Remake is already in the works, and remakes/remasters in general are one of the most popular trends in the industry right now, I think a return of Chrono is not only likely, it is all but assured.  The only real question is what form a new Chrono will take.
