« on: May 17, 2016, 07:18:13 pm »
i successfully edited the regular battle music to play dreamwatch of time, but it takes 7 secs to load the battle. I know i saw it documented somewhere in modification that 00 was instant. and ff was 7 sec. i think. can someone verify and link me? *cough* faustwolf *cough* he helped me do the swap in. in the first place.

Gale is "okay" composition, the problem is not the track itself, but the amount of times we heared it.
Actually, in various modmaking, tweaking and testing time I heared this track so many times that I now hear it even when I sleep.
I don't think we should remove it completely from the game and use something else. Instead, I think we should use different tracks in various battles (and using "Current Room" track in every battle is not really a solution, it just doesn't fit sometimes).

Thanks for replying! I disagree, In thinking "Current Room" is not always best. The music composition is so awesome that it blows "Gale" out of the water, in coolness! Can you consider making a ppf just to make this a reality?! we'll see what the poll results are too!

As I said, Gale is not a bad track, we all just tired of it.

But I am not saying that Gale is better than "Current Room".
Gale is not better, but Current Room would thematically fit not in all battles, sometimes there are probably better choices.

I can understand. When I was testing some FF9 translation hack, the music just repeated in my head, I had to disable sound. It is not a bad music, but keep listening to the first part drives people mad.

this, it runs so flawlessly. I thought CC emulation sucked arse on PCs.

Ye, the only problem is weird looking triangle sometimes, but everything else is perfect.
Also, emulation actualy gives you a bit better graphics than original PSOne due to AA, effects and stuff.
Nothing special in my emulation configs, except overlay calls, everything almost works out of box.

Come on, Guys! Someone? Anyone? Teach me at least how to edit the battle script. or whatever to make every single "Gale" track playin' battle have the same track as it's room instead? Pretty please?

You want to look at fieldscript opcodes A3 and C9, which are the ones that trigger battles. One of the parameters there is a set of bitflags that controls whether Gale, Brink of Death, or the room music plays.

And to do this you must edit each of the ~500 fieldscripts separately.
