Of Mystics and Demi-humans

Demi-humans and Dragonians are not related.

Native humans of El Nido = descendants of humans from Chronopolis.
Dragonians = descendants of Reptites from Dinopolis.

So, demi-humans are not Dragonian descendants.  At least, there is no suggestion in Chrono Cross that this is the case.  In fact, it really suggests the opposite--that no Dragonian descendants remain whatsoever.

I really think that the Mystics are just a sect or tribe of demi-humans who followed Magus and have the ability to use magic.  The demi-humans of El Nido are descended from Mystics who were at Chronopolis.  Note that one of the Chronopolis ghosts explicitly mentions that he comes from Medina.  I think this is Cross giving us a hint as to the Mystic/demi-human connection.

Right. So Dragonians evolve into humanoids, animal anthros, and so forth within the span of 200 years. Yup. And just ignore the Demihumans working on Chronopolis. Yee-up.

The time crash connected them to 7,600bc.  Thats a bit more than 200 years.

Yea. and the Dragonians lived unchanged until 200 years prior. So yea, anyway, you have no proof, and you're the one making the outrageous case. Present or STFU. If the DemiHumans were descended from the Dragonians, they would have long since been destroyed by Fate. Not to mention that the Demihumans are just as much as a threat to the planet as humans are. And like, how almost none of the Demihumans have dragonic or reptilian traits. Yea. Pwnage, much?

What the hell is your problem?  I admit that I'm not entirely sure about where the Demi-Humans on El Nido came from, I was just giving my thoughts.

And you yourself disprove your idea that FATE would kill them all, if the Dragonians lived 200 before CC.

I'm no expert on Dragonians or anything like that, so I'll take your word for it.

You don't know if there were Demi-Humans in Chronopolis and neither do I. One of the ghost says he comes from Medina and as OdF said it might suggest that he's a Mystic, but it doesn't suggest that he's a Demi-Human. That ghost could even be a random human like the others actually, since by the end of Crono's adventure Mystics and humans lived together in Medina and a ferry was created between Zenan and Medina.

Why? The Dragonians were made extinct by the Porreans, not FATE. They actually lived peacefully with the descendants of Chronopolis during some time (at least in Guldove).

No they aren't. Both Dwarves and Fairies say that they live in harmony with nature, and that only the humans are the threat. And the Dwarves are the ones who accomplish the Dragon God's (''Time Devourer's'') wishes in one of the ending.

Do you know what Dragonians look like? No. Demi-Humans don't look like Reptites, but Dragonians aren't Reptites, they are evolved Reptites. We never saw any Dragonian in the whole game, only Dragons. And even those Dragons aren't totally reptilian: the Sky Dragon has feathers, the Earth Dragon looks like a slug, the Water Dragon is amphibian, Draggy has insect-like wings, etc.

So seeing as how Dragons have other traits than reptilian traits and how we don't know what Dragonians look like... we don't know if Demi-Humans look like Dragonians or not.

It's logical to think that Demi-Humans are animal humans. Not reptilian. If the Dragonians were animals of all types, then Demi-humans must be a form of Dragonian and Human inter breeding.

Personally, When I think of a Dragonian, I think of something that would resemble the reptites. It's kind of obvious. The Humans in 65,000,000BC look almost the same as 1000AD ones, except for clothes and hair style.

Urgh, someone linked Letrimh...no matter.

Though it hasn't been made into an Article (sounds like it could be "Peoples and Societies of the Chrono series" though, maybe for a future article), there are clear choices out there.

Mystics

-As humans evolved from apes, Mystics evolved from the various semi-intelligent animals of the land, especially those used by Reptites for defense and in contact with civilization.
-The Mystics were engineered by Zeal to protect Mt. Woe. (This is Hazy Vision's theory btw)

Demi-humans

-Are simply mainland Mystics who have come to El Nido (not likely since colonization from Zenan didn't begin until after the demi-humans were already there)
-Are Mystics who settled the country in 7600 B.C.
-Are a hybrid human / Dragonian species, since Demi-humans did take part in Dragonian rituals

Now, something we need to establish here is whether the Dragonians use the record of FATE. I suppose it doesn't matter, but if there is no record of them talking about it, it supports the mainlaind Mystic theory.

The Dragonians did live until rather lately in Cross, a few houndred years prior. Unless I'm mistaken, some of the races speak of them in a rather knowing tone, as if their parents or grandparentes actually KNEW them. And let's look at Divine Dragon Falls...

There were other types of monsters in Giants Claw than reptiles. Remember the monkey monster bastards that would throw your party members at each other?

That quote, Legend, seems to say that both races still exist in El Nido, just not in as large of numbers as before...

Yeah, well, that's only better. Not only were they not extinct 7600 years ago, they still exist.

But no, it dosen't mean that. We'd see Dragonians, other then Draggy, on El-Nido.

I always thought of "Mystics" as a catch-all term for sentient non-humans (of obviously varying intelligence). Clearly there are many races represented in Magus' army, and there's no reason to think that humans and dragonians are the only species that achieved sentience through evolution. Given that the monsters seem to use magic, and Flea, and Magus, I doubt magic was the mystery to them that it was to the humans of that era, hence the name. I'm pretty sure demi-humans could be included in the 'Mystic' umbrella - wouldn't surprise me one bit, and it adds, as I've said before, an interesting and rather sardonic twist to Magus' curse on Frog. (Imagine that - he not only changes Glenn into a non-human, he changes him into his -enemy-. Admittedly, however, I just like the poetic irony in that.)

It would make sense, given the context of the game, for the demi-humans to be more closely allied with the draconians, given that the draconians were all about the Planet and nature and stuff whereas humans were (according to CC...) Lavos-influenced.
