The Main Page

Ok, the main page has been changed.  This poll is for anyone and everyone to express their thoughts on the new layout.

I didn't vote, as I have pros and cons with each.

I think the fact that the side bar has been rid of is a plus.  It allowed stuff to be widened out, and stuff isn't crammed together.

Everything else I prefer the old.  I liked the little mini-Lavos at the top, and the color scheme was better.  Sorry, but off-peach-white background colors don't do it for me.  It looks like the main page to Pottery Barn or something.

I just have a preference of darker colors and panel orientated content, sort of like http://www.squareinsider.com/. For a page like

There seems to be a lot of wasted space, partly because white is so glaring, and otherwise because there is no distinct panel to set it apart from the empty space. Though I don't think there is an invisible "panel" type restriction anymore, either.

And I guess the Peach is a little weird, but that's because the white makes it that much brighter and pink looking. Perhaps a light blue background might work, something like Letrimh. The white also makes it hard to see certain detailed pictures, like ZSNES screenshots, which are usually dark. A computer monitor can be easily equivocated to a big lightbulb.

I think another reason I like the old is because the usual theme I have on the forums is Zurvan, and the old site fits perfectly with the theme.  So, I get somewhat of a huge contrast between the forums and main page now.

I got the sense that a new theme on the forums would be added to match the theme on the new pages...

Personally I like the new style.  Just because a change from dark to light just feels good after awhile, and I actually kinda like the colors. =P  The whole thing just looks more classy.

I'm using Subsilver...and there was a main page link in the forums before...A link that linked to the main page of the Compendium (www.chronocompendium.com)...

There should be the standard top part of the site with links and "Forums" in big text all the way at the top now, so a main link back to the site isn't needed in subSilver.

Oh, I see...News/Updates is like the previous Main Page link...And...is the word Forums supposed to be all...uh...uncentered or w/e? It's over to the right a lot...
