Ah, like they planned to do a game that had something to do with the Fall of Guardia and the Masamune? (Chrono Sword   ) But obviously they decided not to and created CC, they then said that the Fall of Guardia was the fault of Porre and not the Masamune. Interesting, very interesting.

So if that whole video sequence was something for CB, then does that mean that Kid had a whole new role in the storyline?

Whose to say the two events didn't have something to do with each other?  Radius did come across the sword, in its evil form, during the same time frame as Guardia's fall.

I doubt it was the same event though.  Radius came across it after it became evil at Dragonian Falls, and left it right after he killed Garai.  The footage in the CT PSX version shows it at Guardia Castle, presumably before it became evil (or AS it was becoming evil).

He found it at the Denadaro Mts.  Radius killed Gairi in 1005, same year as the fall.  The game simply reused the Divine Dragon Fall for the Denadaro Mts.  They look very much the same.  A cave with a waterfall next to it.  And CC did reuse models and such.  Unless you are to believe that Radius looked like an old man 15 years before CC, and Gairi was a complete giant before he died and became a vengful ghost.  Now I'm not saying it was Radius who used it against Guardia.  It was used in Guardia for a slaughter before he got a hold of it.

I see it as this:
-Someone takes the Masamune, and uses it in his/her slaughter in Guardia.
-Masamune turns evil, and is taken to Denadaro.
-Radius and Gairi, who were on the Mainland (Zenan) at the time, come across it, Radius kills Gairi with it.

The "why's" and "who's" of this don't exist.  Yet.  Thats why I think this was material for CB to cover.

masamune was already evil as it used the energy of lavos, being made from the red knife which was made from the dreamstone, which when stabbed into the mammon machine which channels lavos' energy turned it into a broadsword the masamune. The slaughter brought out the evil side of the masamune representrative of lavos rather than melchoir. The masamune being tied to lavos would also explain why when you first see the sword it wreaks of so much evil that you cannot approach it.

Look at the sword in CC.  Look at the sword in CT.  What is the difference between the sword in these two games?  In CC, it makes people go in murderous rampages.  In CT, its a holy sword used to fight Lavos.  What would make this huge reversal?  Masa & Mune being asleep, and the Sword massacring tons of people, becoming a cursed blade.  According to Aura, in Japanese lore, if a sword is not washed after being soked in blood, the sword drinks the blood, and becomes cursed.  The PSX ending, with a bloody Masamune, implies thats probably what happend.

Hmm, thats a cool little fact.
So the sword, from being soaked in blood, harboured the negative energy of the person we see in the 2nd ending of Trigger. We could then assume that this person continued to use it for such an evil purpose that it retianed evil energy. Masa and Mune were asleep through all of this, becuase their master had been killed.

If the idea of the Masamune drinking blood (as I described) is to be believed, then the reason Masa and Mune went to sleep was because of too much yoki (demonic energy) suppressing their energy. Like Sleeping Beauty. Only a person with a noble heart could reawaken them.
