Because you are a minority, and therefore why should they make som much stuff for you, when they could make it for the larger demographic, right handers. Thats why they dont stock so much nintendo stuff, because hardly anyone buys it.

Nevertheless, the discrimination against left-handers is still abundant in my society, and even more so elsewhere in the world. If you do not believe it, it is only because you do not see it. Your friend's rant notwithstanding, there are any number of prejudices which sinistrals must endure, and for the vast majority of us it's almost never a real problem so much as an ongoing nuisance, but sometimes the prejudices are more harmful, and even the smaller ones can be cumulative in their effect on the left-handed psyche. I think one of the reasons left-handers are disproportionately more able-minded, imaginative, brilliant, and eccentric than right-handers is that they earn a lot of subtle "experience points" for dealing with a sort of adversity in their day-to-day lives with which dextrals need never contend.

Do not discount this antisinistral prejudice because it is subtle! Sometimes subtlety is the hallmark of insidiousness.

I don't run into much of that sort of discrimination. The only time it ever comes up, really, is in the form of a joke. The real discrimination is more subtle, mostly in the form of objects or processes that are laterally chiral.

To answer your question, the "undiscriminatory" class is the wealthy, male, white, heterosexual, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant patriot. The big ones in that list, though, are white male Protestant. I am white, and I am male, but I'm not a Protestant and I have to deal with quite a bit of discrimination for it. It's even worse against non-whites and, worst of all, against women.

(Actually I'm the reincarnation of Amelia Earhart. I took a man's body so that I wouldn't have to deal with all the sexist junk.)

The United States is heavily Protestant. With all Protestant denominations added together, Protestants outnumber Catholics in this country by almost three to one. Over 50 percent of the population is Protestant. Overall, roughly 85 percent of the population is Christian in some way or another.

That's what makes a big religion more dangerous than a minor cult; that's what makes discrimination against dextrals a joke but discrimination against sinistrals a subtle and sad way of life; that's what makes anti-black racism potent and anti-white racism weak; and sexism against women monumentally more powerful than sexism against men.
