Radical Dreamers recreation

Just wondering if, (as I have not seen any), there was any headway in terms of creating a non-script-based RD recreation. Doesn't matter what platform (RPG Maker, ROM, etc). I have seen a lot of 2D sprites for Kid and Serge, so just wondering if anyone utilized them and finished something.
