Why did Porre invade?

Why did Porre invade Guardia? I never really got that. I never really got the whole Mystic/Human war, but, it has to be something more than land.

I think he wanted Crono to give him some jerky. Anyways, Porre probably thought that Guardia was getting to powerful and had to take action. Bullshit. I can see Marle's dad right now.
" Ok, fat soldier, on the right!"
" It's Jeff and I'm not fat! I'm physically expanded!"
" Of course, fat soldier..."

Porre invaded because it's a militarist, fascist, violent state with a violent, fascist army... Of course, that wasn't the case in the time-line Crono visited.

Meh, they wanted to control the world. Guardia woulden't see it coming, too peaceful to see war coming at them.

I don't particularly buy the Sun Stone theory.  I think they invaded due to being a militaric, facist government.

Maybe they invaded because Guardia had something they didn't?

I've always wondered why and how Porre became a military superpower, myself.

They were just a bloody small village back in 1000AD!

And they became like Earth's own Napoleonic Empire by 1020AD?!

In just 20 years?

What did we miss?!

How, and when did they get the power to advance so quickly?

From the Lavos Time-line to Keystone T-2, there isn't 20 years but more than 12,400 years...

I thought I read somewhere that there finding of El Nido and the power of the Elements was what brought round the Fall of Guardia. And along other reasons as well, but perhaps El Nido and the Elements was the PRIMARY REASON that all this happened.
