Wow, two whole games, huh, SilentMartyr? And anyways, I don't know if people are saying that Nintendo is solely and completely focused on one specific age range...but it's obvious that it appeals to the younger demo moreso than the others. I mena, Nintendo's basically been turning into a 1st party gaming company anyways and nearly all of Nintendo's games are focused around the younger crowd. SCE has from the beginning targeted the 19-year-olds in all of us.

Yeah i know. when you say Nintendo is kiddish, they always say those games and Eternal Darkness. BUt i love nintendo. even though i dont have a gamecube, i had an n64 and those were the best days of my life. But actually, my friend tells me Paper Mario has a few innuendos in it. And rememember snes? BEST.GRAPHICS.EVER. Donkey Kongs on snes, anyone?

Meh, I know media sucks. They always claim that if you listen Metal-music and one of your hobbies is "roleplaying" you're a satanist, or something like that.

Anyway, this is already kinda offtopic, sorry for that.

Besides graphics, what makes the games so child oriented?

Uh...easy gameplay? Light themes? Probably some kind of goofy character...Talking animals? I 'unno...it depends...lots of things can make a game kiddy or kid-oriented...

Personally, I don't have much of a problem w/Nintendo doing this. I mean, it's obviously ruling this market w/a galvanized steel fist and w/it also the 'party games' as well.

I don't really think easy gameplay is one, but I see why it could be considered. Light themes? When has Nintendo's games not had light themes? Talking animals, yea you can't avoid that. Although Conker might prove a different case...

Think of it like this: what would a parent buy for his child? A game about a random plumber who kills cute things by jumping or a game about people killing zombies with guns?
That's right.

There's also Pokemon, Pikmin, Nintendogs...
I could make a list but it'd be a waste of server space. :P

Uhm dude, who are you trying to fool? Anyone with half a brain KNOWS that 90% of the games on Nintendo consoles are kid-oriented.

DO you really need to play a game to know if it's kid-oriented or not? Nope.
I mean, it's not like reviews, screenshots, videos and ESRB rating means anything. :P

But I did play Nintendo games. I think Nintendo is chaning nowadays anyway.

Nintendo should stay as they are. They rock. They don't need to make more "adult games" they need more 3rd party developers! RE4 is coming to ps2 and i believe so is eternal darkness.

samus isnt that hot. its just that people say so, so nintendo can look cool

Samus has always been cool...I personally haven't played any of the Prime games...But she still kicks butt as an action/sidescroller...They can milk the Metroid series all day long as far as I'm concerned (although I'll be dutifully pissed if they pass up a Return of Samus remake).

I don't think or know (or care, honestly) if Nintendo's list of games are 90% kiddy or w/e...What I base calling Nintendo kiddy or at least developing towards kids is the ratio of their top selling games. Not to mention just their first party games are mostly kiddy.

knuck could have made his list longer by supplying every single Pokemon game, every single Mario game...not to mention games like, ugh, Animal Crossing...But i'm mostly w/Burning Zeppelin, if they stay hardcore as they are, they'll continue to rule their little section of the gaming community...but, yes, making their system almost completely 1st party seems a little much...

Yes, one follower today, a couple more next year!
Ninty are weird. They make all these sports games like Toadstool Challenge i think and the soccer one. they are good, but put them onto one goddamn game will you! But can they fit it?

All the Mario titles???? That is surely a strech, and I don't really see how the early pokemon games are kiddish (red, blue, or yellow). Although the later ones are aimed towards kids.

PIKA PIKA!!!
Dude, Ninty are kiddy, get over with it. That doesnt mean bad. That just means people that like violence and sex dont really want to buy their stuff. People that just want a good time, realaxing time should. Im arguing against those people that say Ninty is not kiddy, mainly because they dont want kiddy games. Mario Kart didnt have bloddy explosions, who cares? Mario 64 didnt have half naked make out scenes with Mario or Peach, neither did Link and Zelda. Who gives a damn?
Conker and the other rare games or on Xbox now :P
