Good god, this was from 2005?

I had just made 15 posts? My god... :picardno

The only reason I noticed this is because my email informed me that someone replied to this topic.

Alright listen up all yálls.  This isn't beta work this isn't obscurity... well obscurity maybe. But it was printed art in the original manual. There's even more images than just one of Marle, too. They have one for Crono where he has noticeably lighter (orangish) hair, and one for Ayla where her outfit is distinctly purple... maybe even pink. and like... more upper lip. it's weird. I could be wrong but there should be more in there for the other three "Normal"characters.

Look around on Icybrian's site and yoú'll find pictures of all of them.

There are a lot of pictures with characters in alternate costumes or with alternate coloring, some of that can be blamed on the fact that a lot of that art was made before the game was finished. Some of it can be attributed to the context, in a winter scene the characters wear more clothes, at night, there are more blues and purples, in the sunlight, there are more oranges and yellows.

Personally, I don't think it means much at all.

Could just be conceptual or unfinished art.
this is the first time I've seen this. Amazing, does the Compendium know about this?

As I told you once before, visit Icybrian's Chrono Trigger page and you can view the rest of these "alt" images there.

Schala can't be her ancestor. Remember that in the now altered events, Schala is sent to the DBT, yet Guardia's royal family remains intact. So, it's not possible.

Sure she can, through the wonders of genetics. Marle has 50% of the DNA of her mother, 25% of the DNA of her grandmother, 12.5% of her great grandmother, and so on and so forth. Assuming that each female member of the line had the appropriate child at the age of 20 (fairly late for most of them, I'd actually wager), that gives us 650 generations between Schala and Marle. Or, in other words, 100/(2^650) of Schala's DNA would have survived to that point. Humans have 3,200,000,000 base pairs. The sort of that is, after that length of time it is quite possible that not a single bit of DNA from Schala would have remained for Marle. In short, genetically speaking, Schala could have been replaced by a different human being and there is no reason Marle couldn't have still been eventually produced. The past would be different, no doubt there, but the effect of the change would diminish over time to the point that it is likely that Marle would be entirely unaffected.

But, it's for those precisely first big changed generations that things will not be same regardless of how many generations have passed. When it comes to probability, you just can't rule out what just seemsto have a low %, regardless of how small. Besides, we don't have exactly proof for either case, do we?

For all we know, the pendant could have ended with Marle even if Schala hadn't left descendants in the Lavos Time line, just saying...

But then again, this is a video game. Genetics don't apply as importantly as real life...

I'm not saying that things would be the same for those first generations, but that those big changes become not just negligible but non-existent over 13,000 years. So we have a Marle who's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother was not Schala in a new timeline when in the original she was. Given that any daughter Schala would have had would have been living in the Last Village, the daughter of Not-Schala would have had largely the same experiences. Let's be generous and say that a child's development is determined 90% by their parents and 10% by society. Schala would have only had a 45% impact on her daughter's life, and thus Not-Schala's daughter would be missing that 45% impact. Which, with the same situations being applied, means that not a single quirk, bit of knowledge, habit, axiom, etc, would have survived down 13,000 years.

Now we might say that Marle would have been different in some intangible way (after all, New-Marle would have Not-Schala as an ancestor rather than Schala), but given how little a person is influenced by a single individual who lived 13,000 years ago, it goes too far to say that an ancestor couldn't be changed. Indeed, given the population of the Last Village, a lot more people than just Marle would have had Schala as an ancestor; you don't see huge portions of the world disappearing just because Schala got sent to the DBT.

Mind you, this isn't to say that Schala was Marle's ancestor. Just that she could have been and a switch to the timeline wouldn't have been significant enough to erase Marle.

Well wouldn't Schala be Marle's ancestor because Marle has the Schala pendant. In all the places you visit in time, you always meet one of Marle's ancestors
Prehistoric age- Kino and Ayla
120000B.C- Schala and ?
600A.D.-King Guaria and Leene
1000A.D. King Guardia and ?

King Guardia and Queen Aliza are Marle's parents. There's no mystery, just have to read carefully ^.^

The great mystery still remains of how Schala's pendant came within the Guardia timeline as per Leene possessing it as well.
