Chrono Trigger Artwork Gallery Version 1.0 (PD) for GBA
« on: September 04, 2005, 10:58:05 am »
Hello all chrono trigger fans !!!
This is chronosagas from France. A year ago , I created this GBA rom. In this rom , you can see a part of Chrono triggers artwork made by Akira Toriyama.
I'm now working on Version 2.0 in order to update the artwork gallery.
To download the rom : http://site.voila.fr/chronosagas/chronotriggerartwork.rar .
To use this rom you will need winrar to uncompress the file , and a Game Boy Advance Emulator.

I hope you will enjoy it ;)

Best regards

Chronosagas

Should i release it on the main page now, or wait until 2.0 is made?

A slight warning, and I really do not mean to criticize, but the use of copyrighted artwork in the ROM is on par with providing a CT ROM for download, in the eyes of the law.

Course, this site probably has all that artwork available for download already.  Just saying.

For the moment , I don't know when I will release V2.0 , so you can add this version on the main page if you wish ;)

You are right , all pictures are under the copyright law , but , those pictures are available on most Chrono Trigger websites. Moreover , chrono compendium is using copyrighted pictures (the Epoch ship on the main page for example), and on the Public Domain rom scene , you can see a lot of project like this one which are slideshows of pictures from mangas and so on. If Square Enix and/or Akira Toriyama ask to remove this rom so ok let's remove it. As nobody is making money or ask for money on this rom , so I think it is possible to release such a thing.
But as I told you , you are right about the copyright law , and I should ask Square Enix the rights to use Akira Toriyama's artwork.

With all my friendship

Does PD stand for Picture Directory or something? I see a lot of ROMs 'n' such labled w/that when I...uh...stumble upon those naughty ROM sites...and I always wondered what it meant exactly...

PD = Public Domain.  In general, homebrew files from the dev community.

I could not explain it as good as you did Jlukas

For version 2.0 I think I should ask to Zeality , because there is some good artwork here (some that I have never seen before  :P )
