Flaming and Intolerance on the Discord server

 So, I normally just kinda try to ignore this, but lately all I ever see out of the discord is political arguments, namecalling, and a generally sour atmosphere that scares new users off.

   Making matters worse, some users have taken it upon themselves to approach every single new join and warn them away from the server for it, claiming that anyone who leaves right away "isn't worth having around anyways".

  Supposedly, the admin for the server simply up and disappeared? This is a bad light on the compendium community - is there *anything* that can be done about it? I'll gladly help moderate.

I believe V_Translanka set up the discord on one of his quick and random visits. I will reach out to him.

I wish I had the time and energy for Discord, if so I'd moderate there as well. But I honestly don't think I can add that to my plate.

EDIT: I've emailed V requesting that we add some admins. We'll see what he says and how long he takes to respond.

Unfortunately not. I've asked everyone to calm down for a bit and things seem slightly better. Between ThatGuy, Meridian, and a few others, I honestly think half of it is just trolling for the sake of making each other mad.

I still haven't heard back from V, though. I've reached out here (which likely goes to his personal email) and on Discord. Not sure what to do if he doesn't respond in a timely manner.

The Compendium long held an absolute stance of intolerance towards fascism, excessive religiosity, sexism, right-wing misinformation etc. to the point we literally kneecapped the community at times to run those worthless fucks off. Lord J Esq can back me up there.

So V still hasn't responded and I reached out to Discord support. Unfortunately, we have less than 100 members, which really puts us in a bind. We aren't able to take the Discord channel back from V, and I don't like the idea of having to create an entirely new channel.

Sadly, based on the information you provided, our support team won't be able to transfer ownership as the server does not meet our ownership transfer requirements.

What are the Requirements?
We generally do not interfere with individual server management, and we can currently only assist with server ownership transfers that meet these requirements:
1) The server must be a public server that has more than 100 members in it
2) The server owner hasn't accessed their account for at least a month
3) The new owner is a current moderator or admin on the server.
Note: If the prior owner was banned, this could also result in the denial of a transfer.

Possible Alternatives?
If you would like to continue to manage your server's community further, we recommend creating a new server (or using a server template from the Server Settings), and generating a new invite link and sharing this invite within the old server. This way everyone that is currently active in the old server can use that invite link to join the new server.

I was going to suggest having TheMage sign up 40 more times, but then I realized we don't meet points 2 or 3 either. V hasn't responded, but his account is currently listed as online, and we have no other current moderators or admins.

V has not responded to myself or Zeality, the punk. We've tried the Compendium, on Xbox, email, and Discord. At this point he literally has to be ignoring us on purpose. Very frustrating.

things have quieted down for the time being. it was really ridiculous in there for awhile. admittedly I got my hands dirty, mostly because certain individuals exhausted my patience. there may have been provocative posts in there, but the response to them was disproportionate. all in all, some things can't be ironed out without moderation. thanks for intervening.
