Rumor - Chrono Cross Remaster

I cant post link (curently working and almost all gaming sites are blocked on my workplace), but on the Resetera forum there are two threads dedicated to latest rumors, and member NateDrake (some kind of insider) wrote that something is gonna happen with Chrono Cross.
He thinks that is more than simple port (like FF8 remaster) and polish devs Forever Entertainment (Panzer Dragoon Remake) are connected with CC remaster/remake.Someone else pointed that somebody from Forever E. was recently tweeting about CC.
Some members hoping for remake in style of Trails of Mana asked for further clarification and Nate Drake answered that during this week he will maybe have more info...
Really looks something is gonna happen this week, fingers CROSSed.

I read about it too. There are so many things to fix in CC that a remake would really be a better choice. And maybe (and just maybe) can be a path to finish the plot.

As I pointed out in the other thread, the Another Eden collaboration is set to come out on the same day as the Chrono Cross Remastered is rumored to be announced, at the VGAs.

Not exactly sure when they took it down, but until fairly recently you could still buy copies of Chrono Cross (PlayStation Greatest Hits version) from Square's store page.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it. It could be something as simple as Square finally selling off all their backstock of a twenty-year-old game. But could it be that they took it down to build demand for the revival?

Depends. Can you still buy the digital version from the Playstation Network? After what they did with the Pixelated Remasters of Final Fantasy where they took out other versions from stores, then it could be a sure sign.

Ahh we discussed that on Discord a couple months ago. The text of "REMASTER" doesn't quite match the rest (typographically etc), so it seems bootlegged. It's also weird that there's a date (well, year) there but nowhere else online. The site in general has a sketchy vibe if you ask me; I suspect someone's capitalizing on hype, offering fake pre-orders.

I don't know who fantasyanime is, but a quick Google search shows me it's a website for emulation. Respectfully, I'm not sure how they'd "know" what SquareEnix is planning regarding any of its IPs. Is s/he/they normally a leaker?

I'd guess because they were asked to take down specific games, and not the entire repertoire. So SE doesn't want people downloading those specific ROMs currently because maybe they have current projects pertaining to them. At least, that's their guess.

Sooooo as far as I've been able to tell, it seems like the rumor mill has kinda dried up ever since December, right? I haven't heard anything in a bit. I still think it's a thing. A lot if the leaks mentioned December, but COVID has delayed virtually every thing in the industry, so I still think it's coming...
