Hey, what’s up, Compendium?
I wanted to drop my latest mix here and get some honest feedback—don’t hold back on this one. I’ve put a lot of time into it, and it’s evolved more than once along the way.
A little backstory: This track is actually one of the first songs I ever made when I started producing. I might not have the absolute OG version anymore, but there’s an earlier version floating around on Spotify and Apple Music. About six years ago, I submitted the original mix to OCremix. If I remember right, the judge who reviewed it liked the concept, but since it was one of my first projects, the production wasn’t quite up to par. Long story short—it didn’t make the cut.
Fast forward to now, and after leveling up my production skills over the years, I wanted to take another shot at it. Getting a track featured on OCremix has always been a goal of mine. That said, I know they’re strict about trademark infringement, especially with direct game samples, so if I submit again, I’ll need to swap out some of the samples I used.
For now, I’m considering releasing two versions—a producer’s cut and a radio edit (OCremix version)—but I haven’t fully decided yet. I would say the track is about 90% complete. I don't know if I should make the last part longer or not; seems like a lot of build up for a short epic ending.
Anyways, would love to hear what you all think! Any feedback is appreciated. Also, I did the artwork for the track myself.
