Stop angering the storm deity!
« on: September 14, 2005, 08:08:34 pm »

If this hits me, it'll do some serious damage to this town. 70 mph winds, and golfball hail pouring from the sky like ice cubes on a coach after a winning football game. For reference, a dBZ rating is a general storm threat assessment; a rating of 50 is bad. 60 is pushing it, but I've never even SEEN 70 or above on this radar utility until now. And VIL above 60 ensures hail; in the 80's, it's going to be raining chunks of ice.

And for reference, mesocyclones is what leads to rotations, which, if they touch down, become tornados. This is a mammoth storm system. It's like the rebellion of the titans down here. We just might get clipped, though.

That top storm now has a VIL of 91. That's going to spawn some baseball sized hail. The top two also now have enhanced rotation. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a tornado outbreak. Storm spotters are already all over the place and amateur radio airwaves.

Ah. I get it now. I see it more as a "build on the joke" thing, but the judges will accept "pwn" too. =P

As a side remark, I think it'd be more interesting to be blown away to some out-of-the-way place like El Nido instead of straight into the thick of things. Dorothy didn't get blown straight to the Emerald City, now did she?

Ophelia came VERY close to passing over us (it was depended on how it passed over Cape Hattarus.) I'm glad it seems it won't, though...

Anyways, I'm sorry to hear about the danger. I hope you're safe  :( .

Wow, I totally never knew that storms were measured in any regard under a Dragon Ball Z scale...No wonder the numbers look so small...It must take some kind of world destruction storm to equal a kaio ken or something...

Damage won't be as bad as Katrina though.. that hurricane just missed me by a lilttle over a hundred miles away form the eye, even though we got tons of wind from it, and some down trees, we didn't stay in the dark long here.
