How well did you comprehend Chrono Cross? Only specify when you, hands down, acquired a good idea of the entire plot.

I sort of comprehended the story of Chrono Cross before I actually played the game.

I thought I had a good idea, from what I've been reading here. Now that I play it, it seems very confusing...

I'm not sure which way to vote. I think one of the reasons the Compendium exists at all is that the quest to "comprehend" these games is ongoing. The main plot, for its part, I would have to agree with GrayLensman on that I had a good idea of it before playing the game at all. But you know, one thing these boards have pointed out to me time and again is that I missed all sorts of interesting details, and so my comprehension of the game is ongoing. But I don't want to say that I do not comprehend it yet, because that would also be misleading. You need another poll option, like:

"As for understanding, I endeavor because of the whole."

Which is a very cool little quotation, and would get many votes.

It took me at least three playthroughs to fully understand the story plot in Crono Cross beacuse the game throws you little tidbits of the story nut never really shows the entire story. Same thing happen in Crono Trigger The story continued after the defeat of lavos. Still one of the plot mysterys of the game is the dead sea. I still dont understand everything about it.

Fuck i still dont understand it. The developers took great care to put in as little personality to the charectors as they could get away with.

Basically all you need to know that square decided to fuck with the ct fans and basically nullify crono's quest. And our boy Belasthar arranged to counter act squares influnce and engineers the entire course of events in cc.

I think, as I'm in the middle of my second playthrough AND with the influence of the Compendium, I'm almost at the semi-complete comprehension state.

Condensed plot summary.  Although I don't think anyone fully understands it.  I understand it for the sake of any upcoming Chrono game.  I've only done one play throught.  Well, maybe 1.25 playthroughs.  I stopped on my second one.

I WAS at the point where you fight the black dragon (4 other relics) on my second playthrough, but I messed up and took the relic from the sleeping dragon again...eliminating the main point of this file (being able to forge with rainbow.) >_>

Chrono Trigger's a whole 'nother beast. I had almost everything down by midway of the second playthrough...

Has the thought of just reseting the game ever come across your mind?

I tend to reset and have multiple saves in my RPGs.

So unless you count those resets and multiple save points as different playthroughs, I more or less got it after my first complete trip through the game.

Now, whether my thoughts match everyone else's is a completely different matter.
